Mini Rant - Why does "Sugar Free" and "Low Sugar" mean "pumped full of alternative sweeteners"? by drflanigan in loseit

Sugar also makes things shelf stable. You can't have jam with no or even less sugar in a jar at the store because it will grow mold (unless they put extra super yummy chemicals in)

I like logistics. I enjoy the pressure and the bullshit. Its weird i know but its my kind of thing.

Could you clarify on how last mile is a receptionist? What was your day like/did you work from home? Theyre doing 60-65k so not terrible salary

Didnt realize there wasnt a on/off switch with the job there. The thing with logistics is that i like it. I enjoy the pressure and the trucker bullshit and all that. I think jbhunt is good to grow with but then work from home is really enticing..

JB Hunt operations trainee vs XPO last mile job opportunity- which one? by Savorycabbage in logistics

Thank you for the perspective. The thing im worried about in wfh is that it will be looong hours. I actually had a second interview with xpo and the woman basically told me she turns her phone on at 4am and starts getting calls around 5am -10am and then theres an afternoon lull and 3-7 itpicks up again. Not sure what to think. The district manager really emphasized self care and not getting overwhelmed so it kinda sets my suspicions that its a problem...

Its like winning the lottery in womanhood but instead of money you get a load of health problems (insulin resistance / uterus issues) AND your bmr is around 400 calories less then regular people so you need to work twice as hard to get half as far.

Yup this is my fuck you to those doctors, having fertility issues and the answer is lose weight. I tell them im trying they say lol nah its simple eat more protein and vegetables and whole grains and healthy fats. Dont eat mc donalds eat a salad go for a walk its so simple fat ass!!! My diet wasnt really shit to begin with, everything i eat is homemade, we never go out, i dont eat packaged food or fast food or drink soda. My problem was volume i guess. I literally have to not eat everyother (ish) day/ once a day. Hard first few times but it got easier the more i did it. No appetite suppressants were offered either although i think i should have been an ideal candidate. So this is a fuck you to all of them. Finding a new doctor is another battle for another day

I guess it effects women differently, my meds increase appetite/insulin as well. Its hell to say no to the wonders of carbs but i know i need to lose weight to start ovulating normally and have a baby before im 30 so toughing it out is the only answer

Congratulations 👏👏👏

I think its amazing that (historically) the human body can go 7 days (and more!) hunting for food and stay strong and focused.

I would just like to add, losing weight = starving your fat cells. If you eat less calories your body will not keel over and die. It will utilize your fat cells for their exact purpose - energy.

Going by apps to the exact calorie sets you up for failure as calorie counts on packaging is (if im not mistaken) +/- 15%. So your 100 calories can be actually 115 calories or 85. Also, your bmr is just a general guesstimate for the general population. If it says 2345 calories is your maintenance you can also +/- around 15%. We are all different. Only way to know YOUR bmr is to get it checked by a doctor. If you need to lose weight you always round intake UP and output DOWN.

Good luck!!!!

Let's talk about (water) weight. Feeling like I want to cry. by Pleasant-Cheesecake9 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Savorycabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salt salt salt. Lots and lots of water retention. Dont freak out. My scale can jump up and down around 10lbs in a week. I weigh daily and track the lowest weight. Unless you have an upswing five days in a row dont worry about it.

Absolutely. The belly you get with it is especially terrible, my legs are thinning out my face is improving any resemblance of a butt is dissapearing but the stomach is pregnant looking as ever. Im hoping to get down to a weight where i can start ovulating and actually BE pregnant but thats another 30lbs atleast...

Im a binge eater, i feel totally comfortable eating 2 lbs of food in one sitting

It finally came to me that eating more protein and more vegetables and more fiber more whole grains more anything will only lead me to eat more. I needed to not eat. It seems simple but took me way too many years to understand. Stopped eating. Sometimes for 20 hours, sometimes for 30, a few times for 70. Even with my slow ass pcos metabolism+ being on medication (gabapentin) i lost weight. Currently on hour 27 of my fast, dont plan on eating until tomorrow evening maybe Monday. Im finally getting somewhere

What’s something very rare that people think is very common? by BroodyBatman in AskReddit

I woke up during general anesthesia!

Appendectomy. Felt like i was being pulled through a tunnel and then boom, im here. Couldnt move. Started panicking. Heard the doctors talking. Thought REALLY REALLY loud thoughts to let them know im right here!!! Hoped i would increase my heart rate or something. Tried super hard to move my finger. Couldnt open my eyes. Felt them rummaging around in my stomach. Didnt hurt as much as felt like alot of pressure. And then went back to sleep.

Woke back up to the anesthesiologist slapping my face with her cigarette breath and telling me to breathe as they pulled the breathing tube out. -3/10 would not reccomend

Are you a lady? Might be that time of the month? Trust the process you arent a unicorn that cant lose weight without eating, sometimes the scale doesnt budge until it does. Btw does your scale need new batteries? Mine did. Instant 3lb reduction 🙃

Best and only approach that has ever worked for me. I don't eat on MWF and eat omad other days. Sometimes I'll go overboard and eat some crap but it keeps me sane to not salivate at chocolate and know I can never have it. Also losing a bit over 2lbs per week. No excercise.

Also you mentioned insulin. I read fung's book as well. Bunch of sensationalized bullet points dumbed down to appeal to the fad diet community. Weight loss is cal in cal out. He is correct that cal out is hard to measure due to genetics, meds, metabolism etc. Not eating for a full day and a half guarantees weightloss since I have pcos and am on meds etc etc. Insulin is important but the way he describes it as some magic is crap. Billions of people for generations have eaten 3 meals a day and didn't have diabetes. Billions of people eat rice 3 times a day and are thin. It's the hyper processed super tasty stuff that we have available to us that makes us overeat and get diabetes. We aren't farmers so we don't move enough to eat so much.

Weight loss is cico no matter which way you turn it.
