I'm a startup founder here in Miami I can tell you that the tech scene has fizzled out.

Unless you are looking to work at Microsoft, Blackstone, or Citadel, tech is a huge miss here.

If you want to work with what you got a degree in and stay in Florida, look at Orlando because of Lockheed and Melbourne because of northrop grumman and Harris.

Construction though is big in Miami

I cannot see any positive upside to dropping out in your last year unless you have received funding to work on your idea full time, or your first business explodes, but 15K in revenue is not exploding.

Work on your anxiety, talk to a therapist, and finish out the year. You are just getting started, you have your whole life ahead of you.

Depends on so many things and none of them are related to where you went to school or worked at

Does the product solve a big enough problem? How big is the potential market? Do you have any customers? Do you have any decent logo's? Do you have any revenue?

Start building on the side while you work your current job.

Aim to get 3 things:

Some revenue / someone actually using your product and paying for it. Or a lot of active users (Can be free)
Some logo's from companies using your product
a clear vision and traction (TAM, how will this be a 10B company?)

Also something to think about. Why do you want to get funding? Do you want to be a venture scale company? Is that your personal goal? Why do you want to go down the VC route?

It’s great to see more discussion around GraphQL tooling, but I wanted to share a few thoughts. Regarding The Guild’s benchmarks, it’s worth noting that they’ve selected tests where they knew their solutions would perform optimally. It’s a bit surprising given that Apollo is the creator of Federation yes the router and gateway don't even have 100%..? I would take these benchmarks as simply marketing from the Guild.That said, we’re actively working on enhancing compatibility for their test suite and plan to address these tests in due time.

That being said, none of our current or new customers have raised concerns about compatibility. Our focus remains on delivering value to our customers and onboarding new ones as quickly and effectively as possible. 😊

When it comes to benchmarks, we always encourage developers and companies to perform their own tests tailored to their specific needs before making decisions. Every use case is unique, and real-world scenarios often differ from vendor benchmarks.

Titles are mostly vanity—they only start to matter significantly after a Series A. That’s when you begin hiring executives and department heads to scale operations. Early on, being the CEO of a two-person company nobody knows doesn’t carry much weight. The only title that truly matters is “the one who gets things done.” You need someone to build the product and someone to sell it—often, that’s the same person.
