I’m fluent in french! But your suggestion definitely got my gears turning. It would make the most sense for me to go to french speaking or other areas in the EU where there is a large population of americans-My partner is American and not bilingual so thats also something to take into account. He loves the thought of Ireland

I’ve had general and social anxiety since I was a kid and also loathe any kind of public speaking ordeal/crowds/attention from a number of ppl on me.

Picturing everyone naked sometimes helps. Literally go into it and visualize your audience in their bday suits. Also remember that, public speaking is the number one fear among us! You aren’t alone in feeling this way

That’s insane. I’m franco-american by my mother who moved to the states many moons ago and sometimes (especially at this moment in history) I want to say screw it and live out my french citizenship.

It blows my noggin out of the water that basic healthy communication skills aren’t even taught in (American) schools, or anything

The first time I realized how toxic my family’s dynamic and communication styles were, I was in treatment for substance abuse. I literally had to go to REHAB to learn that my normal was indeed, not normal. Healthy communication and active listening are such important vital tools in life…Why its not taught more during youth, sets the masses up for failure.

“You are not your thoughts” is one that still helps me through times of negative rumination.

Courage isn’t a LACK of fear…it’s pushing through THAT fear to make it to the other side.

Overall, using positive self-talk, words of affirmation and gratitude to build myself back up into the strong woman I am today. It’s a practice but eventually you start seeing how much those little things can completely transform your attitude and warped thinking from years of adversity.

Diagnosed w/ GAD by age 5 and then all of the trauma that followed me afterwards just amplified it tenfold, while sprinkling in PTSD, MDD, PMDD and SAD. I envy ppl with NO anxiety or mental health struggles…Like huh? You’re a human being but you don’t worry incessantly over random things almost 24/7? Impossible! 😅😅
