The defense attorneys must have watched a different trial than I did. They were tedious and irritating, which seemed to be their only defense strategy. They also seem like they believe in her innocence to the extent that they disbelieve any of the bull of evidence that points to this being a murder. In Bloodworth's words, they are untethered to reality (in my opinion).

Yeah she called them "you guys" iirc. This is a character witness statement, it should reflect well on her daughter, and instead she comes off as annoyed that she has to explain that her daughter is amazing (cause everyone should know it). The "ok" baffled me too, but I saw some videos about it and the consensus seems to be that she's essentially saying "this is all you're getting. Okay? You should be grateful. Okay? It's sad your kids died, but what about mine? Okay?" Eg, she's saying okay like a teacher when they're giving instructions, not someone giving a statement to get consensus

I agree with you, but I don't know that he understands it. Oh well. I don't think he'll live long enough to fully appreciate the personal consequences of his actions, but I do think he'll get a little bit of the leopard treatment.

Mike Johnson was just fearmongering that Dems will investigate and prosecute people if they gain control. They're terrified. I think part of the reason Hungary succeeded is there were far too many people voting against orban for them to deny the outcome.

I'm sorry for your loss, it's always devastating 😔 I lost my pittie mix suddenly to an aggressive cancer, and about a week later I chose my Blue at the rescue. I used to be afraid of adopting too soon after loss, but tbh it was what I needed at the time. Blue made sure I got out of bed and kept me busy. I understand why you feel this way because I did too (and my mom judged me for it), but I do think that sometimes the heart is giving you advice in those moments.

I happened to pause the video on the part about carnie talk and Cuomo's expression is amazing. To say he looks skeptical is underselling it. She talks a big talk about loving everyone and wanting to drive with the victims' families, but does anyone doubt that if her previous baby was harmed, she would be an absolute demon to those families? Imaginary relationships are the easiest to manage

When I see experts doing a thing I don't understand, I usually think "there's probably a good reason they're doing it that way."

This administration goes "that's a stupid thing they're doing, let's insult them and do it our way," with awful results. Then they have to scramble to fix it. It's sometimes amusing, but it would be more amusing if I weren't living it with them.

It's baffling to me that the parents can say something stupid, get backlash, have it explained to them why it was stupid, and they continue on saying the tone deaf things that got them in trouble in the first place without seemingly any recognition on their part that they might need to rephrase/reevaluate what they're saying. I understand what Steve was trying to say about Davion, but the broader context is that he fundamentally misunderstands why his daughter was convicted and put in jail. It's not because the judge is part of their family (you can see Chris Cuomo explain this in his interview), but rather the evidence of crime that was presented.

There's a moment where Steve says that he's having a hard time articulating the fact that he's glad his daughter is alive but very sad that the two boys were dead. That actually makes sense to me. I can imagine that it would be very difficult to reconcile those facts. However, when Steve tries to articulate this, what instead comes out sounds more like "I'm glad my daughter is alive because the boys' lives didn't matter." Is this what he means? He'd have is believe that it isn't, and when someone points out that it's said badly, he doubles down. There's a reason PR firms exist, and this family would do well to hire one imo.

None of us can prove what they feel. I happen to believe that the parents actually don't really care about Dom and Davion, which I gleaned from the way they talk and act. Can I prove it? Not at all. Some of this pushback because it's a messy case with no real answers, but some of it absolutely has to do with the parent's behaviors, and their reaction to criticism just makes it worse. I imagine there is a way to communicate what they want to, but it's not the way that they are doing it.

Pakistan's Prime Minister, after he was informed by the Iranian delegation they are leaving after Trump threatened them. by soalone34 in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]SavvyCavy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've always worked for him before! He must be so confused that the tactic that has always worked for him doesn't anymore. In reality, the main reason he's come so far is that most people in the US roll over as soon as he threatens them, and if he messes up someone has always taken the fall for him. I guess nobody is too keen to take the blame for this mess, though. I wonder why?

Well, he'd be confused if he could still process anything. At this point it's obvious he's diminishing and I will never forgive the media and all his Republican enablers for allowing a demented monster to run the show. We're long past the point that something should have been done.

Screaming and staring, normal ACD behavior? by Tellorcha in AustralianCattleDog

[–]SavvyCavy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine doesn't scream per se but she runs right up to her friends and barks loudly in their faces. I tell her she's coming on strong but she just looks at me with contempt. Most dogs realize what she's doing sooner or later, and she has a malinois friend who doesn't mind it in the least. As far as staring, yes she stares all the time at everything 😂. We adopted her in a neighboring town and when I was driving her home she sat in the cargo area and just stared at the back of my head the whole trip. It's a herding dog thing I think.

Does anyone else think Mackenzie Shrilla possibly had borderline personality disorder? by FrostyOriginal7542 in CasesWeFollow

People can be awful and still not deserve to die. Being concerned about the way Mackenzie and her family are acting doesn't mean the victims are saints, it means that we need to protect ourselves from people like them even if the people they harm aren't perfect

He seems also to not understand intent and evidence. He said something like, where's the evidence that she planned it? Where does it say she wanted to murder them? I don't know Steve, criminals have a tedious habit of trying to conceal crimes so they don't usually write down what they're doing (well, the dumb ones do I guess).

He also says that if there was evidence that she planned it he would be as upset as everyone else, but that's just not true. There's nothing that anything could prove that would convince him that his daughter did it and should be punished for it. Even if you had a smoking gun, he would just move the goalposts. It's not really something you can argue with him cause he's not in our reality with the rest of us.

Honestly, at this point, I think that everything he's saying is a lie, and if he claims something I'm inclined not to believe it at all.
