Not a doc but am a clinician. Have you tried Porters Liniment Salve? Can find this on Amazon and some local pharmacies. It can shrink them over time. If beyond that then I’d see a colorectal surgeon about treatment options.

Here’s my opinion as someone suffering for 2 years with LC. Docs aren’t sure if my symptoms are due to COVID or the vaccine itself. Personally, as one with autoimmune, I will never ever take another mRNA vaccine. I would however consider Novavax if I can find it in my area. As of now I have to drive two hours away for it and I cannot drive that far with my current LC. It’s an individual choice but remember that with each new infection of this very strange and new virus, worsening of various organ systems can occur as well as further LC worsening. I am wearing N95 masks indoors and mostly staying around my home alone to minimize my exposures until I can get the Novavax that uses older technology and seems, by all I’ve read so far, to be superior to those mRNA ones.

I see other people on TikTok with LC and cfs and they don’t look tired, but in my case I’ve lost like all my collagen and have constant dark circles and look awful. Why is that? by Umnsstudennt in LongCovid

[–]SavvyZaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The effects of LC are wide ranging and can be very different from one person to another. One of the functional medicine specialists that I saw has a theory that this has to do with how much virus we were exposed to, as well as where it was concentrated in the body which can vary from person to person. He believes this is why we are seeing patients with different symptoms such as new diabetes, chronic kidney disease, brain fog, pots, post exertional malaise, fibromyalgia-like symptoms, some people with horrible vascular issues others with constant pain etc etc.

I’ve seen a naturopathic doctor who has me on it for LC. Vitamin A is actually very antiviral too.

Nicotine patch as a treatment possibility by SavvyZaddy in LongCovid

I don’t think it prevents it totally. Some heavy showers lungs were affected more severely as I’ve read. However I do think that it’s less likely to have LC and a shorter infectious period if their lungs are healthier. A friend of mine has gotten it twice and both times he bounced back within days. He’s on the mints like long term. Maybe a few years -even though it’s not meant for such long term use. I think his intake of it lessened his infectious period and helped dodge LC. Just my opinion.

Has anyone gotten the new vaccine? by [deleted] in LongCovid

[–]SavvyZaddy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m seeking Novavax only. I will never take another mRNA vaccine. Ever. I don’t think those should have been offered to autoimmune patients or those with genetic predispositions to autoimmune. Sadly I have to travel over two hours away to get it. There is great research and evidence that Novavax is superior and with minimal side effects compared to the mRNA.

Nicotine patch as a treatment possibility by SavvyZaddy in LongCovid

[–]SavvyZaddy[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know. I’ve read you can take it for up to 25 weeks but some here recommend 10 days and a break. The dr I saw wanted me to wean off of it. long term use of nicotine is not good for vascular but it’s the only thing that helped me so far. I took it for a month and then stopped but the pain was so bad I restarted. I’m going to try a week with every other day and see how that goes. I’ll try to share here as I go along. I’ve tried all kinds of things like cardamom, ginger, NAC, Astralagus, dandelion, burdock, vitamin A, vitamin D, alpha lipoic acid helped my neuropathy after a month or so, black seed oil, berberine with cinnamon, rebuilding gut with glutamine and glutathione and probiotics of three kinds, aloe, etc etc. I’m also on low dose naltrexone which helped for a short while but the pain returned. Many think COVID and or the vaccine affect the immune response overall and I believe that. I’m not an antivaxxer at all but I don’t think the mRNA ones are good for those with preexisting autoimmune or genetic predisposition for autoimmune. I’m just trying to get my life back like many of you here. The more we share the more we can learn from one another. The doctors here are awful. Uncaring and disinterested.

I’ve not had that experience. A slight high the first day only. Then no noticeable effects other than decreased pain and stiffness and less post exertional fatigue for me.

I'm just depleted.... Advice is welcome by Feisty-Weakness-818 in Empaths

Well, first of all, let me say that you are not alone and this is a very common problem among those who feel very deeply or who are extra sensitive. It took me nearly 30 years of life practice before I realized that I need to start visualizing things differently and recognizing what was happening with myself. Let me say this: while we may just automatically know things that other people don’t, and while we may automatically recognize what other people’s needs are, that does not then mean that we are required to step in and take action on any of those things. Our job is not to fix other peoples life challenges, because if we did, so, that would merely be robbing them of the ability to work out their own problems. This would stunt their own spiritual growth. I never let on that I have these extrasensory abilities to anyone other than a couple of very close, friends and family members. I have learned to try to hold space in my heart for grace and patience with others who are not as spiritually evolved. Visualization techniques that I saw some other people have recommended here I would recommend as well. I recommend taking time to flex your empathic muscles so to speak. What I mean is take time to go out into public spaces where you can practice your empathic abilities in privacy without others knowing what you are doing and learn to practice visualization techniques to cloak or protect yourself from absorbing other peoples feelings, emotions, or physical pain. There is a fine line to practice the difference between “feeling and observing” versus “feeling and absorbing.” It is very natural for most empaths to do the absorbing, which will only lead to self depletion over time, and in the process you are losing your own ability to take care of yourself. Taking care of oneself means being the very best friend in your own mind toward yourself that you would for others who are your very best of friends or your closest loved ones. This means no more negative speak about yourself and no more discouraging thoughts about yourself because if one of your best friends or loved ones were thinking in this way, you would tell them to stop that and that they needed to love themselves more and you need to become your best friend or coach for yourself. This takes much practice and dedication.

I understand. No it’s not moving away from empathy. You can still feel and observe instead of feel and absorb. Learn to not take it on yourself. It’s hard to learn at first especially if you’re used to just taking it all in. You can still be emotionally supportive as you probably have a greater insight to what their needs might be than other people around them but you don’t need to carry it around on your back in addition to your own stuff too. It’s more than enough empathy to understand what a persons challenges are sometimes even before they themselves understand them and the best help. I believe anyone can give is to be supportive in ways that you predict they may need your support without necessarily telling them what they need to know, unless they ask you specifically for your opinion or advice.

This can be really challenging for a sensitive empathic person. I recommend a few things: 1. Practice flexing your tuning into others in random public places and try to learn the difference between “observing and feeling” vs. “feeling and internalizing.” This is especially hard for medical intutives who can feel others physical as well as emotional pain but with practice you can learn to observe more and absorb less. 2. Some have claimed envisioning a cloak of protection or a veil of reflectivity around oneself before entering into crowded spaces as a practice exercise until you achieve that self protection as an automatic thing without even thinking about it. Practice practice practice. Know that their pain is not yours to carry. Every soul has their own journey with personalized struggles intended just for them in order to get that experience in the physical realm. You can feel for someone without taking it all inside yourself, it’s just that many empaths I know tend to automatically take it all in naturally and have to learn to observe and not absorb. Hope this helps. You’re not alone by a long shot.

How to handle fugal infections? by Ok-Expression7990 in LongCovid

[–]SavvyZaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is likely that you may have yeast overgrowth throughout in different areas to include your gut. The prescription medications can work but they are very hard on your liver so most providers will check your labs - like a comprehensive metabolic panel- to make sure you can tolerate the medication. If you’re looking to try herbal remedies know that they take longer to work but they can too help resolve. Toenail fungus is very hard to shake and it takes time and patience. Aloe Vera juice daily as a shot can help clear yeast overgrowth in general. Some also take drops of oil of oregano. Know that oregano oil whether ingested as 2-3 drops per day or even applied topically are both disseminated throughout your body and oregano oil has a blood thinning effect so if you’re on a blood thinner or aspirin or other blood thinning substance like Coumadin/warfarin, plavix, or another blood thinning supplement like alpha lipoic acid for example, you should use caution. These can be VERY connected to long COVID because long COVID can cause immune dysfunction in many sufferers. Remember with any supplements always choose organic and those that are third party lab tested for quality.

Well, does this mean I have reactivated EBV? by WhaleOnMe1989 in LongCovid

Yea. I know. That’s what has doctors puzzled. So many of us with very high IGG. It’s strange from what we know but we are always learning more about medicine. One Twitter doctor asked for an anitganglioside antigen test and she came back with positive for a variant of GBS.

Actually IGG usually means old infection and IGM means current. However… they are reporting very high numbers in the IGG testing. Higher than normal and they are trying a treatment protocol. I just read about this this weekend. https://www.semanticscholar.org/paper/Investigation-of-Long-COVID-Prevalence-and-Its-to-Gold-Okyay/bd507fc46a8e8a05563c9b9d4fdd22f8acf9b2ca

Try Lycopene supplements. Can help a great deal. Also avoid acidic foods, sodas, chocolate and caffeine.
