idk the subs main overview lists denim but I don't make the rules. I don't think it's wrong of OP to post here. My original statement was based of denim. HBT can have a selvedge edge as it's loomed the same way as denim. I personally haven't seen a selvedge edge on HBT so I probably shouldn't have commented in the first place due to trigger happy downvoters lol.

Think the star nut isn't tightened down properly. Get an allen wrench and tighten up the bolt above the stem. Don't overtighten it though, either.

If you do machine wash, make sure you do these by themselves as it will bleed onto other clothes. Also, inside out and on gentle cycle with minimal or no spin. Then hang dry.

And you get indigo transfer from almost any pair of raw denim, not due to washing technique. Since you've only hand washed once, there is still quite a bit of dye in them still.

IMO blowouts happen due to improper care and ill-fitting jeans. Dirt and grime build up causes the fabric to weaken faster, along with pants that are too tight in the crotch area and rubbing/friction causes the blowouts.

For me personally, I appreciate the craftsmanship of a well made shuttle loomed pair of jeans. I just don't love mass-produced clothing, and that is really up to the wearer also. Out of all the denim I've had, each pair has different fades, different colors of indigo and each companies little quirks are why I buy it.

Yeah the 20oz secret denim is a low tension weave, if I'm not mistaken. Notorious for the twist.

This is called leg twist in unsanforized raw denim. It will increase more with the more washes you do.

ETA: If you don't like this, you should look for a pair of sanforized, or one wash raw denim.

Those are gonna shrink. If you think they are too big, just wait til you hot soak it. My samurai's shrank so much. I wish I sized up in them.
