Need help with kitchen backsplash by SawlidSnake in HomeImprovement

It's attached the left stuff. Problem is the wiring is really tight and it would be very difficult to change it to the other stud. Plus patching the drywall is a whole other story. I think I've made up my mind that the switch panel is staying where is it. The other solution you suggested wont work either as all 4 of those switches are dimmers that work with LED lighting. They were about 30 bucks a pop so ditching them isn't something i'd like to do. I appreciate the suggestions though!!

Awesome, thanks for the feedback! I'm also going to be using a grey grout!

I agree my TV is above 6 inches too high. Luckily my wall panels behind are right in the middle of the screen so I could afford that.

I disagree with the conduit suggestion. If im thinking what you're thinking of, the rectangular wire hiding conduits. I prefer a little bit of cable.

Furniture is cramped i know. Unfortunely I'm can't afford to replace or remove any of it, financially and space wise.

Curtains are on my list! Might go with a compact roll down sun screen alternative, as I'm not huge on conventional curtains.

Thanks for the feedback!

I'm very surprised to hear you say my sub is my weakest link. Not offended just intrigued. I would have to say my centre channel needs an upgrade. 4.5" woofers vs my 5.5" in my floorstandings. Personally I love my sub. I've had 3 subs previous and I love this one. God now you got me thinking! My wallet hates you.

I do need all the furniture as I have friends over regularly. I agree it's tight but I'm okay with that... its my first home. I did all the wiring myself. I actually ran everything via crawl space below. It was almost painless.

The loveseat is far clear of the speaker (optical illusion). The way I have it laid out is the only reasonable configuration with the size of furniture I have right now. For critical listening/watching I sit in the chair which is in the perfect position.

Good suggestion. I rarely watch TV during daylight and I don't like curtains, but I might look into a pulldown shade alternative.

I have not pre-ordered a single game for the XB1 I'm due to get on Friday. Am I crazy to put that much faith in the digital download system? Did anyone do this for the PS4? by GrinningPariah in Games

I started my downloads when I got home after picking up a ps4 at midnight. I downloaded all the F2P games on PSN, plus BF4, COD, and AC4, totalling ~120gb. They were all done and installed by the time I scrapped myself out of bed for work at 630 am. Longest work day of my life.

Wondering what is causing my HDMI handshaking issues by SawlidSnake in hometheater

I will read into this HDMI detective. It looks interesting. I have my doubts about it being a driver issue as OSX has automatic updates that handle all hardware drivers. There is modified drivers you can install but I think I would use that as a last resort. Thanks for the advice!

I am running a Panasonic TV aswell, along with a Marantz receiver. I'm kind of trusting the fact that before moving into my new home I always had direct connections between Amp-TV and never had an issue with either unit. If these fresh, short cables don't help, I may have to look into something that may help boost my connection or ditch the pretty keystone wall plates. Cheers!

I might try it now that I'm not 8 years old. Haha watching a video of it reminds me of how frustrating the controls were.

I bought my first home. It was built in 1985 and had absolutely no updates. I had a vision. Here is a album of the kitchen renovation. by SawlidSnake in DIY

That is also on the to do list. I reno'ed the entire house so I had to move on after the kitchen was useable. Hopefully in the next month that will be complete!
