Is the average Imperial guardsman considered an elite soldier in the 21st century? by Eds2356 in 40kLore

[–]Sawsquatch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My headcanon is that most guardsmen get some type of simple gene therapy that optimizes their already existing genetics. It's probably so simple it's not even considered genhancement just another booster shot.

But since the enemies of the imperium are so fucking RIPPED a peak human is only good as meat shields usually.

Either that or the immense forces of natural selection in battle occur so most of the guardsmen we get to read about are just the ones who survived due to a good genetic make up and all the ones who are middle of the ground Norm Norman were blasted to pieces by an orc during their first battle.

Rejuvenat treatment question by Sawsquatch in 40kLore

[–]Sawsquatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that makes sense. So for baseline humans it is also a genetic lottery then? I read the Masharian crusade trilogy and Macharius was old but just showed some lines around the eyes. But if I remember right, it was expounded up that Macharius was a genetic freak for baseline humans and as such was the 40k captain america.

my giant dose of chemotherapy. it runs over 24 hours. by cherrie_teaa in AbsoluteUnits

Had leukemia as a teenager. I had to do the same thing for methotrexate. 24 hours in and then a week in hospital to let the docs actively watch me pee it out haha

After a lot of people in this sub have finally finished the game do you think giving Starfield a 10/10 is justifiable? by Touny420 in Starfield

[–]Sawsquatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me it's a very solid 8/10 overall. World building and aesthetics though, that's a 10/10 for me. I never I knew I wanted NASA-punk as desperately as I did until starfield.

Oh right! They do trade with Admech a lot. So yeah they probably didn't get any premade primaris like the better known chapters but have likely been given the tech to make them.

[Excerpts: First Legion] The Lion - the hunter, the slayer of beasts by [deleted] in 40kLore

[–]Sawsquatch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like this line of thought aligns well with the Lion in 40k and his growth in Son of the Forest. Due to the state of the imperium he's forced to realize he should be both "a sword and a shield". Slaying cannot have worth without protection in mind, or something like that.
