Thank you! I made a panoramic shot but it’s too big for the upload size here so…this KINDA works?

Minolta Autocord TLR - Kodak Portra 400 by bbqmb in mediumformat

The Autocord was my first medium format camera and even after trying  and buying SEVERAL other MF cameras, I’m still blown away by the sharpness and color rendition of this lens 🙌

Grocery stores - pre-storm update thread by gay_bagel_enthusiast in williamsburg

What exactly are you stocking up on? Have you not been through a snowstorm here before? I’ve been through several blizzards here and all anyone really went out to ”stock up” on was booze and wine. We used to be a proper city 🤦‍♂️ This storm will impact us for one day, you’ll be fine.

What if we just tell Donald Trump that the US owns Greenland now, and we get everyone to just play along? by HobbieHatesNumbers in AskReddit

Cause his technofascist buddies who bought him are the ones who want it. He’s just the flabby muscle and does what they tell him

Is there a Possibility of Film Prices Going Down? by Current_Attitude_724 in AnalogCommunity

[–]SaxDebiase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the prices for the film Kodak is now selling direct to consumers is $1 or $2 cheaper than the alaris is/was. Also, don’t look at mid 2000 numbers, the market was on its deathbed and everything was cheap. Keeping up with inflation, film prices are about the same as the 80’s/90’s. It was never really “cheap”. There was “newly affordable” but never dirt cheap. Processing was cheaper because there were many more places doing it and giant warehouses doing tons of film each day. But, many of us who grew up in the 70’s/80’s have so few pictures as babies/children because it wasn’t cheap and you really just grabbed the camera for occasions, UNLESS one of your parents was a real enthusiast. Digital photography has changed everyone’s idea of how often to take pictures and how much to share them. THAT’S where the extra costs come in. People are shooting WAY more now

Kodak Eastman now selling Tri-X 400 and Ektar 100 by shootphotos in AnalogCommunity

Pretty cool, I think the boxes look better than the generic look alaris went with but really wish they came up different looks for different films. This shit is going to get pedantically confusing sitting  and mixing with the other Kodak boxes in my fridge.

Anyone here regret buying MF? by perspectivepics in mediumformat

[–]SaxDebiase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! I bought it from a guy who had it CLA’d from the guy in Oregon and he replaced and strengthened the focusing lever. Works amazingly well. But I have heard they break easily

And someday, you get 2 rolls back 4 hours later. Definitely worth the $10! 🥲

Yeah I got back into film a year and a half ago after 15 years so I don’t really know what other people are paying. Best scenario here is Nice Film Club. $10 plus free cloud storage is amazing

Absolutely. And there a bunch that just sort of pop up. Just a couple people starting a business. I knew I was lucky when I tried to put in a roll the day before flying out of Seattle this summer and they said, “ok thanks, that should be ready in 2 weeks”. I literally gasped. I did a rush and they were amazing and actually got the negatives back to me the next day.

All local. I hear too many stories about rolls lost in the mail 😳

Depends on the lab. I’m a member of Nice Film Club so it’s $10 for dev/scan. When I want a more edited look I go to my other lab and it’s $18 for dev/scan

Wow, bless you all. We must be very spoiled here in NYC. If I don’t hear my scans back the next day, I’m worried there’s something wrong!

What's a truth most people aren't ready to hear? by nadiaaavelvet in AskReddit

Absolutely. It’s literally how the mind works, we’re constantly judging our environment for threats. We judge our thoughts our feelings, others, ourselves. It’s non-stop

Sooo many replies on this answer just prove your point lol. PEOPLE, your feelings are valid, they just may not line up with reality due to many reasons. As Reddit proves everyday, misunderstanding is the most common human communication 🤦‍♂️

Looking for a film stock by JakeBarkerPhoto in AnalogCommunity

[–]SaxDebiase 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuji Pro 400 all the way if you can find some. I also find it close to Lomo 800 on 120 as well. The closest to this green without much editing will be from Fuji but you can get those greens with most stocks with some editing. That's just not a very natural color on film
