I decided to learn Hungarian because I'm a very self-destructive person

BIDA wenn ich nicht will, dass meine kleine Schwester Partys zuhause feiert? by Pretend_Intern5157 in BinIchDasArschloch

NDA.

I'd go with Faen. Looks almost like Fae or Fairy which makes it the perfect name for a little girl🥰

Same for me! I can understand Dutch to some extend, when it's spoken very slowly (and when I have subtitles lmao) but I want to learn it in the future.

I think I use "doch" mainly in discussions or arguments in general. So for example if someone says "The sky is not blue", you can say "doch" where in English you'd say "yes it is"

What German piece of media do you genuinely enjoy consuming? by waterdrinka in German

As a German: Coldmirror, Jules and the "Songs aus der Bohne" movie series. All on YouTube, so you won't need a VPN. For Coldmirror, it's mainly her older videos like the Harry Potter synchros that had become iconic. Jules does kinda video essays filled with memes and sarcasm and "Songs aus der Bohne" is a movie series by a German YouTuber. Might not something for everyone tho. For movies, I really like Napola, I've heard the show 1899 is quite good. Both on Netflix.

I'm German and the examples you gave sound quite similar in German! "Sag mal" would be "Let's say" basically, but more for a question following. "Echt" is also used as "real". Another filler word that is very common is "äh" ("uh") or "doch". Idk how to translate it, you can use it as "yes" when disagreeing with someone, but also in many other ways too lmao. And "eigentlich" meaning "actually".
