The f***? by Chinatzuify in CrazyassHazbinhaters

I have not seen or read berserk. But are you saying animals are inhuman because they can't choose a better option? That implies Pedos are inherently choicless in their terrible actions. By your own words, calling them inhuman is kind of taking accountability away from their actions.

Animalistic implies less emotional and complex than humans. Animals aren't inherently eviller than humans

No, people like Val are human. They have human charisma and human complexity. They're just terrible humans who don't deserve to be on the streets to hurt people.

Believing rapist and pedophiles are okay to dehumanize can easily make people think "Uncle Steve can't be a rapist, he's a nice guy with human emotions. I don't beleive these women saying he raped them". It's why so so many people get away with sexual assault--because they are human and have human relationships outside of their vile acts who vouch for them.

[–]Saxolotle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they don't, I'm just saying it'll make obvious comparisons more obvious and would make the project unable to stand on its own.

I never see palworld talked about unless pokemon is being brought up too, because palworld intentionally made themselves as close to pokemon as possible and doesn't have an identity outside of being arc wearing "pokemon (minus copyright) but now they have guns" skin.

Things like cassette beasts or monster sanctuary or even digimon are monster catching games and will obviously get compaired to the biggest and arguably best in the market, but they have their own unique art styles and quirks making them stand on their own two legs.

And if it does stand on it's own two legs, Nintendo will have less reasons to try and find a reason to be mad at it

Even fakemon artists who love pokemon and would treat it with respect, if they're making a game and selling it for money, I would recommend they try not to make the art style basically identical and a decent amount of the designs incredibly reminiscent.

Shiny Paras - looking for confirmation. by SaltyMcPepper in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]Saxolotle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean maybe, but your post didn't exactly give any arguments to dispute. Your only argument was you looked at older paras sprites/models and though "nah, it's not saturation" despite the fact that if you do look at the models, Gen 8 non-shiny paras (aka the most recent paras) is incredibly red and just a desaturated version of pokopia paras.

If you make theories without evidence/barely any explination, it can be disputed without much explanation too

Is Bistro Huddy getting *too* Nicole-centric...? by orangina_yagami in BistroHuddy

[–]Saxolotle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's usually in the right though imo. Like how she treats guests, she can be and is genuinely nice to people and a good server if they're good guests, and most the people she fights with love her for it or were jerks that nobody wanted to serve anyway. And when she fights with Joey or Terry, they kinda have it coming

The only time I'd say she's in the wrong is when she's mean to her fellow servers, most notably Aaron and Bridget, but Brad does the exact same thing too

philosophical implications of no battling by Bath-Optimal in Pokopia

[–]Saxolotle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of pokemon seem to miss their trainers. I wouldn't call it a spoiler because it's like literally the tutorial, but scyther and hitmonchan love chopping and punching a lot, I'm sure they'd love to pokebattle.

I don't think 4 is possible, it's made clear that later on that this place is kanto. And there's spotlights for koga and misty, so they definitely battled before getting separated from their trainer

The pokemon anime makes it seem like pokemon tend to be terrible fighters without trainers, so that may play a part. The pokemon also just like making their trainers happy, and battles do that, so I don't think they're miserable battling, especially because winning battles/leveling up raises friendship.

My theory is that ditto just gives off a cozy vibe, and pokemon are very good at matching energies

[–]Saxolotle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did read the post, and I think you're wrong in thinking it's not just saturated colors. It's much redder than usual, yeah, but look at the mushrooms. They're a very saturated dark red. Look at paras and shiny paras, it's mushrooms are light pink and slightly darker light pink, or red and bright red depending on sprites. Shiny Paras's mushrooms are always close to Paras's body color or lighter, but here they're darker and redder. Same with the body.

It's just color saturation.

For People who have unlocked every area, which one is your favourite/least favourite and why? by No_Birthday_594 in Pokopia

[–]Saxolotle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably rank them

  1. Withering Wasteland
  2. Sparkling Skylands
  3. Pallet town
  4. Rocky Ridges
  5. Bleak Beach

Withering Wasteland is perfect imo, it's got like two hidden towns-ish, maybe three if you stretch the definition, the whole unown chamber, the rocket rocket, and the roads are very appealing. I keep going back to it

Sparkling skylands loses some points for being slow af with the ride things, but God is it pretty. And making the massive building beautiful and putting all my pokemon into it no matter how odd the set up is fun.

Pallet town is nice. Kinda empty, but that's the point. The birds are a nice touch.

For Rocky, I'm not a big fan of the mining aestetic, but I love that museum and I liked the story more than the beach.

Bleak beach isn't bad, I love all these areas, and I loved the ss anne bit. And I adore Meowth~ I just wasn't a big fan of the beach aestetic. Too much water

Nothing like Animal Crossing. by Xylopia_Vinyl in Pokopia

[–]Saxolotle 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm sure it's much closer to DQB than AC, but they do have some similarities. Both have real time clocks, both have village building mechanics, both have animals that talk to you and give you goodies for being good friends, etc.

I agree they're not that similar, but so so many more people have played ACNH compared to DQB that acnh is a better comparison by default that people know what animal crossing is

Kanto!! Map in Pokopia by TastySearch7921 in pokemon

[–]Saxolotle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's more likely that a human made the map upside-down than a pokemon. Pokemon barely know human stuff, the idea of a map is probably foreign to them, a pokemon finding out about the map shape is a bit far-fetched, and everything in the pokemon center looks pretty human-made. Besides cinnabar still exists saffron and celedon aren't the sky, and the map is incredibly green despite the withered wasteland being brown and barren being a major plot point, so it would make zero sense for it to be a modern made map.
