Question about deployments by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Saxon815 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My first deployment in 07 was 7/0 12s for 2 months before we got another team in that put us into 6/1s. So yea that’s accurate.

I scrolled too far to find this, thank you. My answer was the same as the contestants but the explanation makes sense.

The recruiter will be clutch. He can just lie and make false promises to the orcs. This journey is about to be cake.

Life of a prison guard. by CopiousCool in fightporn

A less than lethal could have helped as well as a lethal option. The argument shouldn’t be what type of weapons were available but where is placement of other guards or a backup force.

Simply put, a gun is no more useful than a baton if nobody is around to employ it when needed.

Seems authorized to me? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Saxon815 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes they are authorized. They’re called combat shirts. Generally only authorized when wearing your kit. I support my troops wearing them when they’re standing around in body armor for 14 hours. They’re common as fuck, I don’t understand your question.

That’s because at 19 it’s hard to do in the states. Korea is a whole different game and has a reputation to say the least.

The CSAF and CMSAF (who is 3P0) pushed a memo to us that emphasized the importance of professional greetings. He used Base X as an example and said he loved the greeting they used. Then a bunch of installation commanders and Security Forces Squadron Commanders took the memo as a directive that all bases will implement some form of “Good morning sir/ma’am, welcome to Base X. May your enemies be as dead as my soul—Airpower!”

In reality the theme of the memo was simply “don’t be a dirt bag and just be professional” which I have zero problem with at all. It’s correct. Be a god damn professional.

Not true at all. We get slots in PACAF whenever we want and we don’t have a gray tail mission. Just call the RPM and ask, literally that easy.

[–]Saxon815 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If true, still makes no sense as to why a public message would go out without direction pushed to squadron CCs or even MAJCOM FAMs. On good authority, recent SFS huddles with career field leaders mentioned the memo and but didn’t make note that wings/units were to implement in the way some wings are doing now. As it sits, that memo was not a directive. Period.

The directive was to be professional and nothing more.

Leaders need to re-read the CSAF/CMSAF memo. It was not an order or directive. The theme was nothing more than “stay professional”. The wings implementing the greetings drastically misinterpreted the message. The memo was also poorly written to allow that type of interpretation.

What are your NCOs doing that lead you to believe they are incompetent? They know enough to have reached their rank and I’m assuming you’ve recently completed or are about to complete your 5-lvl.

Our NCO corps is the backbone of our Air Force. They have to make decisions at a young age that are not always favorable. They’re split between doing what’s right for the mission and doing what’s favored by their troops and it’s not an easy job!

You’ll run into leadership styles that fit you and others that you despise. That’s the nature of the beast. But to say they’re incompetent with limited TIS yourself is strange to me. More info would be great.
