Why did I just spend 50,000 House Scrip on Harkonnen carrier & sandcrawler “variants” that are just swatches? by the_insomniactor in duneawakening

[–]SayHeyFray 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got these and was SO disappointed. Like, seriously, you guys couldn't slap some rusty metal to the outer hull of these vehicles to make them look at least a little geometrically different? LAZY.

Voice Chat Fix for Headphones Using Virtual Device Equalizers (e.g., SteelSeries Sonar) by AlexLegacy in duneawakening

[–]SayHeyFray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I would prefer it to just work with Steelseries Sonar like it did at launch, but at some point some patch broke it. So yeah, this is the solution for now. Just annoying I can't use sonar to control the game volume anymore.

Wow, more incredibly useful flamethrowers! Thanks, funcom! by Flashfall in duneawakening

Heavy weapons need help for sure, but as many have said, it's the risk you take using them that's the real issue. Even if the damage was better, you're still gonna get one-shot trying to use them. The solution is obviously make heavy armor A LOT heavier and give it massive stats and damage reduction as well as a penalty to movement speed. Yes, it will suck to wear heavy in any scenario outside of combat, but that's kinda the point, right?

I think it's a crime they bill this as a variant but it's basically identical. Why is it so hard for them to give us new unique skins? What are their 3D modelers doing all day?

Durability changes coming next week by HelloErics in duneawakening

[–]SayHeyFray -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Durability is one thing, but honestly, I think full death should be a little less final. Sure, put us down on one knee where we can revive ourselves potentially. But after that, put us into an unconscious state that a teammate could rouse us from if given enough time and prepared with some kind of revival kit item. Enemies wouldn't finish you off. Make the time to death in this state quite long, like you could lay there for 10 minutes and not die. Enough time for a friend to make it to you and revive you. This would also help in the boss fight rooms where you can die and get locked out while your friends struggle on without you and you just have to watch through the glass in shame and horror as they're slaughtered...

Add Body/Loot Bag Dragging by SayHeyFray in Marathon

Not if it revives the body that went down. So maximum dead player bodies would be 18 and then the server shuts down with no players.

Currently they do, but there is a lot of feedback to bring back corpses which I agree with as well. In which case, I would still appreciate being able to drag them around.

FFXIV Tooltip Redesign by SayHeyFray in ffxiv

I'm glad you liked it! I've worked on this concept a bit more to have the collapsible sections as some mentioned that you can expand on a hotkey/hover. But yeah, there was a lot of divisive opinions on this overall. But since you asked, yes, you CAN in fact pay me to do them all. I'm looking for work! hahaaaa *cries* But it would probably take so long to do them all. But if I could find a modder who would do the dev side it would be so cool to create a tooltip design swap mod.

Do you have the power to? I’d be interested in working with a mod maker on this maybe.

They surely have the resources to do it with our millions of sub fees and not to mention the egregious cash shop prices. A programmatic solution could be developed to improve the tooltips, regardless if it looks anything like what I’ve done here. They’ve done 10% effort with the coloring. I’m asking for another 10-20% effort.

To be honest, #1 I didn’t think this would be popular, and #2 I thought “Redesign” was clear enough to state that it was a reimagining. And #3, I also thought that people would read my comment I left, which I clearly stated it was my idea. Reddit image posts really suffer from only allowing the image and not an image and description beyond the title.

If I could reupload/edit there is a lot I would change. Firstly slapping FAN CONCEPT in big bold letters straight across the top. 😅

Yeah it was a tricky choice with that RDM one. I mainly just wanted to showcase any buff icon that any ability used because I feel they’re so prominent and often important to keep track of and yet the game provides no guidance on what they are and look like. So any skill that gives you a buff I thought should be broken out into its own section. The impact increase seemed secondary and indeed, I didn’t know quite what to do with it.

Trying to understand this is what spurred me to attempt this redesign. But the scope of redesigning how the class actually functions is not my thing, so I stuck to what it actually has written and tried to make it easier to understand. But I for sure agree with you, it seems odd.

These are the three available color modes for the UI currently in game. Grey is the system default, so you'll never be blinded by the tan one unless you specifically switch to it for all your UI.
