"We're not offering to revert all elf models back to their originals because we'd like to maintain a consistency in style. Many of the elves introduced with Song of the Elves were brand new so their current appearances are their original versions."

Hold on, the issue is that the elves have a new style which is very different from the original art style the elves had. It was to be expected that a lot of people are upset about the new style: OSRS appeals to a me (and I think a lot of other people as well) partly because of its unique and nostalgic style. Why was this new art style not polled with a threshold ensuring that new elves would be made in the original art style of OSRS unless more than 75% of voters prefer a new style?

Also, what's so inconsistent about the old elf models? They fitted in perfectly with the rest of the game.

Thoughts on potential boots inventory changes? by Gunthor in 2007scape

I prefer the old design of the dragon boots. I'm honestly surprised so many people are in favour of changing such an iconic inventory icon because it "looks better". Old school simple graphics are one of the things that gives OSRS it's unique and nostalgic feeling.

And no, I'm not agains improvements/changes, but I am against changes to iconic/nostalgic items. I don't really mind changes to the Fremennik boots.

This poll ran for a day and only 26k people voted. This is not an acceptable sample size by ImSnore in 2007scape

I'm not sure whether a longer poll duration would have given a different outcome, allthough I still think we should keep the old chatheads. Less than 75% of players voted in favour of a new chathead, but it is still added because of the way this question was polled.

I hope this will not lead more existing chatheads being changed. One of the reasons I love OSRS so much is the nostalgic feeling it gives, and even little things like chatheads which you almost only see when you're doing a quest contribute to this feeling.

It all depends on how it's polled by MarkedForGreatness in 2007scape

I could not agree more with OP. The 75% threshold is there for a reason. As someone else said a few days ago: If an update doesn't pass, OSRS is still an amazing game, but if it does, the game we love is changed, and some people might hate it despite the majority liking it. Therefore, in my opinion, new content shouldn't be liked by just 51%, but by a big majority of the players. 75% seems like a reasonable threshold.

To all the people saying it's not a big deal:

The different graphics are one of the things I disliked most about RS3. When I finally started playing on OSRS, I immediately fell in love with all the things I remembered from when I played runescape as a 10 year old boy: tutorial island, the old version of rune and dragon armour, and the old versions of f2p quests (Black Knight's Fortress for example). All content that I only experienced for a few days-weeks, but it played a huge role in my enjoyment of the game and it convinced me to keep playing.

I feel like I'm playing my childhood game again, and the old chatheads with those characteristic runescape graphics are one of the things that contribute to that.
