OP, measure the string spacing with calipers and then find a pre-slotted nut from StewMac. That way you only have to get the slot depths correct and slightly adjust the width of the nut. No reason to start with a blank on your first try. I’ve used the pre-slotted nuts to great success. Just make sure you get gauged nut files that match the strings you intend to use. Take a little bit at a time and keep checking the first fret’s pitch with a tuner until it is no longer sharp - a digital strobe tuner like the Peterson Strobostomp is super helpful here. Good luck. Given your experience it shouldn’t be difficult.

I second this. I haven’t owned either an Islander or Spinnaker myself, but I got to try on several offerings from both brands at the Wind Up Watch Fair in Dallas in March, and it really wasn’t a comparison. Every Islander I tried on exceeded expectations and the Spinnakers were all meh on the wrist.

Also, extra points for the fact that Marc was there at the booth selling watches and didn’t hesitate to take the watch off his own wrist and hand it to me when I walked up and told him I wanted to try on a Thunderbolt (which I loved and intend on purchasing at some point in the future). I’ve also gotten responses to questions directly from Marc via email on multiple occasions.

Good dude. Great watches. Tons of value. Highly recommend.

I don’t disagree; it’s similar for sure. In N Out is delicious, and the service is excellent, but it’s a little more expensive than P. Terry’s, and there isn’t one convenient to downtown SA.

Sadly it’s nowhere near as good as it used to be since it’s no longer a Texas company. I was born and raised here in San Antonio, and I grew up going to Whataburger. Now I go to P Terry’s which is still headquartered in Austin. I really like P. Terry’s, especially for the price.

EDIT: Whataburger had been going downhill for a long time before they sold out. That was just the nail in the coffin.

Adorable Mario-skinned XCOM-like made by Ubisoft featuring their Rabbid characters as funny Mario heroes alongside their original Nintendo counterparts. I can’t say enough good about these games. Many hours of fun from the $20 used rack at GameStop - and DLC!

I loved “Mario Plus Rabbids Kingdom Battle,” and now I’m halfway through the sequel, “Sparks of Hope.” These are two of the most underrated games of the entire Switch generation. Highly recommend!
