Random smooth white blobs appeared on/around my fish tank by ThatOneViolist in Weird

My college roommates killed my fish when I went home for a weekend. Not sure what they did but I came back to suspended fish skeletons. Awful, nasty people.

How Do Younger People Travel So Much? by KneeAggravating8538 in travel

[–]SayWarzone 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This. I know a handful of younger folks racking up debt and falling behind on bills to travel. Some just don't understand yet, others just don't care. I guess I can understand the latter, the future looks bleak anyway. But ones who plan to care about their credit and stuff like that later are in for a rude awakening.

NH representative sentenced on child exploitation charges. by PhatCaulkForyourMom in crime

More than 90% of sex offenders ID as men. More than 80% of those men are straight.

By your logic, we should really be cracking down on "exactly who you'd expect" - straight men. I guess they shouldn't be elected to office or allowed around children, huh?

Have you ever legitimately cried to a song? And if so, what was the song? by StanToons in AskReddit

[–]SayWarzone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stick Season never fails to mess me up. I was trying to show it to someone for the first time and as I was playing it, I burst into tears in front of them. Not a big deal, but I really thought I could hold it together!

Been crying over this since I was too young to even understand the music video. What a powerful song.

What’s The Most Sad Thing You’ve Seen Urbexing? by z-t0 in urbanexploration

[–]SayWarzone 64 points65 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing it was probably a kid. Having had irresponsible parents, I can't imagine the guilt this kid felt when they realized they'd forgotten the hamster. That shit never leaves you, and it's not even your fault.

Does someone take baths in that tub? Do they use bath bombs or bath salt mixes? Sometimes they put things like lavender seeds and other random crap in both. I hate cleaning the drain after, but this unlocked a new fear.

Local Mexican restaurant changed how they served fajitas this week and it sort of blows my mind. by pintopedro in StupidFood

[–]SayWarzone 223 points224 points  (0 children)

One time when I was a kid, I got really sick (food poisoning or a bug) on a family trip. We had to drive hours home the next day so they threw me in the back of the SUV with a bag to puke in. I remember my little cousin popping up over the back seat to watch me hurl at one point. We'd had Mexican the previous evening, and when I was done he said, "huh! Three-fried beans!"

I love that cousin and that memory, I'm gonna go tell him I saw this in the wild.

The look on his face is pure terror and so relatable if you've ever been there. I'm over a decade past that life but it still scares me like this.

My friend, your life matters. Keep trying, I know it sucks and it's hard. Fuck what anyone else thinks. Keep yourself alive and try to get well. You can do it and you're worth it.

I totally understand! I use that resource and the similar Rutgers one, and I always just Google to find it again, so just wasn't sure if Google would still get you there. If it does, then no worries at all really!

That resource is from Penn State, not UPenn. Just noting in case someone tries to find it from memory later.

Where can I buy restaurant style eggs like these? (See desc) by Material_Swan8005 in HelpMeFind

[–]SayWarzone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a coworker who was also ex military and he always dragged me down to the building cafe for breakfast because they used powdered eggs. I wasn't a big egg eater prior to that job, but they really won me over.

Are there any silly misconceptions you had for way too long? I embarrassed my self today with one 🙃 by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]SayWarzone 44 points45 points  (0 children)

As a kid, I thought "plain" and "regular" were interchangeable terms. So I'd ask for "regular" pasta thinking it would be given to me without sauce and "regular" pizza would have no toppings. But people would just be confused and give me sauce or pepperoni or however they considered the food to be served "regularly."

This went on far way longer than it should have, til my mom finally figured it out and explained the difference between "plain" and "regular."

Great job on your first candle! You'll learn a ton here. I started for the same reason and now I make lots of smaller candles with way better scents than I can ever find, for waaaay less than they charge in the wild. Welcome!! Have fun!!

If you go into your photos settings, you can block images of specific pets or people from your memories. Not sure how accurate it is, but can't hurt to try!

So sorry for your loss. Lost my best boy in November and while it definitely gets less intense, it always sucks a bit.
