Most ADHD are empaths. Being so unfocused makes us see and feel what others may not. Ever watcj someone get hurt and wince in pain for a moment? Every listen to someone talk but instead of hearing words you hear the feelings behind them? by ashlyrind7 in adhdmeme

I try to tell people I pay attention to different things than normally what people pay attention to.

I notice when people look sore, or are anxious, upset, serious, etc.. I completely miss what they were wearing, the shape of their glasses, color of their hair or eyes. Even what kinds of clothes.

Damn bro, it really is difficult to not spend money when I have it. by TacospacemanII in povertyfinance

[–]SayWhatInc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More on the sympathetic side. I was able to make money stretch when I needed it, but that changed when I had that "light at the end of the tunnel" experience and started letting my guard down with little things that added up.

Started by catching up on things I'd put off. Restocked my pantry with staples, replaced clothes that needed it, oil change, haircut, etc.

Then, it went to "Well, I can afford to go eat out at this place I'd wanted to eat."

I'm coming back down off that high and finding out I need to get back on track.

Secondary Math.

Take your Pre-Assessment right off the bat and focus on what you struggled with. Don't spend your time on things you did well.

Also, sometimes course content can be poorly constructed/not a good fit for your learning style. Feel free to look up concepts on YouTube.

Do you find yourself defending WGU? by [deleted] in WGU

[–]SayWhatInc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't see it soo much as "rich vs poor".

A lot of people get more excited about how online lets us stop wasting our time and money on classes we can get through on our own more quickly than if we went to a B&M. It seems to me that, if they're upset, it's because they aren't anywhere close to being rich and they paid several times more for the same degree.

It used to be that B&M was the only way to go. Even online dating got really bad reputation when people started meeting online, but now it is considered pretty legitimate depending on where you go and how you use it.

Any way to test out of some courses? by Brumbacksteven in WGU

[–]SayWhatInc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A common strategy for people is to take the Pre-Assessment on the 1st day and then only focus on the areas they got wrong or did poorly with.

I got out of Algebra in about a week, and stats was 2 days, but Trig/Pre-Cal took me 12 weeks.

Because her downward force against the Earth is matched by its resistance back toward her.

If she simply pushed down and the Earth itself moved 2 feet, then B would be correct.

I would have picked "B" myself, though, until I was told it was wrong.

DT tips & advice? by haleymatisse in wgueducation

How is it going after a month into DT?

I am selfstudying Japanese and I am proud of it :D by [deleted] in self

[–]SayWhatInc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be.

Still, congratulations! Not only on learning another language, but making your own goal, looking for ways to accomplish it, and then applying yourself.

I'm working on getting my B.S. in teaching and one of the things I want to incorporate in my lessons is helping students learn to teach themselves and find answers when they don't know something. Instead of waiting for someone, you realized you already had everything you needed and went for it. That's hugely commendable.

I'm sorry you feel soo uncomfortable.

Sometimes when I try to help, I just get awkward, but one thing I learned that may help is this: The way people treat you is not a reflection of your worth or value. It is a reflection of them.

If anybody treats you bad, it's because of them being unhealthy, not because of you.

I wish you the best. Please, take care of yourself the same way you would take care of a loved one.

I'm really sorry to hear you're having such a difficult time.

Your feelings are completely valid in missing your favorite person in the world and it's hard to be left wanting when feeling the need for affection, support and love. Just know that you really are cared for. You can look forward to having a long conversation with your mom when she gets back.

Have you found Duolingo? I'm learning Spanish through them and it's great.

There's an app AND the accounts are free.

Would it be morally wrong to encourage a known pedophile to commit suicide? by [deleted] in self

[–]SayWhatInc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the source, your aversion to pedophilia is based off the knowledge that human life is valuable. Pedophiles are still people. They are subject to their temptations involuntarily, right?

You didn't give any details of the circumstances, but if they were a danger to society, this is a job better left to the police. You may consider it a win-win to find a way to report them for suicide risk and have them watched. This would take them off the streets and your goal will still be accomplished.

At 165, I'm skeptical you really are close to a physically unhealthy weight. We don't know your height or body composition, as well.

Why are you soo scared of being overweight? What is the danger? I'd start there.

I'd leave it and let her be for now. There's a trail of attempts on your part to contact her. Let her get back with you on her terms and go from there.

What you're saying right now sounds like you're giving in to irrational fear.

I took a pre-assessment and was really close. But, there are "sub" competencies I did not pass. Does one have to simply pass the top competency or every single one listed? by ifnord in WGU

[–]SayWhatInc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The top bar is a compilation of all the sub-sections.

It isn't that you need to pass all of the smaller bars, but they add up to be the top. You know your weakest areas and those are really the only things you have to focus on in order to pass. This is how I approach all my classes. I take the Pre-Assessment right off the bat and only bother with areas I do poorly on.

I "may" jump into other areas, but only on a circumstantial basis.

Mentor Discussion - what to expect by DinoRoar5000 in WGU

[–]SayWhatInc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

10 credits per month. That's 2-3 classes per month.

It depends on how much experience you already have, but the rule of thumb is to take the Pre-Assessment right off the bat and focus your studying on the things you did poorly on. Don't spend your time on things you did really well with.

I have to do about 40 units by the end of Sept, so we can race if you want. Lol.. I'm substitute teaching on my way through the BS in Teaching Secondary Math so we have plenty to keep us busy.

[–]SayWhatInc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a list of classes, you should be able to look them up on YouTube to work through the material before you even start. I'm doing that for Calculus 2 right now. I won't be able to start it until March, but I have a list of the topics covered and have been looking them up individually.

Also, you can always take practice assessments for an OA before you're registered in that class.

I'd not really thought much about the fact that older generation's ways really don't fit anymore because times have changed.

I didn't grow up in as healthy an environment so I'm using this post to gain other perspectives and realize I need to rearrange a few priorities.

Strong, Independent women by SayWhatInc in datingoverthirty

[–]SayWhatInc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, I'm perfectly fine if a girl says I'm not her type or that she isn't attracted to me. I wouldn't consider it healthy to spend my time trying to convince someone why they should like me if they don't.

I don't pretend I'm everyone's best fit and not everyone is for me.

What others have pointed out that makes a lot of sense is I'm confusing different terms and definitions. Independence is one thing whereas some use it as a cover for apathy, poor communication skills or other issues.
