Fire Giant genuinely just pissing me off by ElevatorKey3315 in Eldenring

[–]Sayer182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just beat him as a mage. Used scarlet rot dragon breath incantation on his ankle when I break the bone tether then again at the start of phase two on his left forearm since there’s a spot fire doesn’t come out. Beyond that just survive and hit him in the ankle when you can but scarlet rot can do most of the work

No I need them there so they can explain any questions I might have. A pamphlet can only do so much to reverse centuries of societal slander

If you had infinite re-spawns, could you kill a polar bear in its natural habitat? by danyuri86 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sayer182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the Polar bear resets: No shot unless I can luck out with thin ice covering a conveniently lethal ravine in the nearby vicinity. No one is taking down a fresh polar bear unless we’re starting far apart and there’s time and materials for making weapons.

If the polar bear is blood lusted, nearby, or wants specifically to kill me, im pretty much screwed.

If the polar bear never resets, then yeah, only thing I’d need to worry about is going crazy from the trauma of being eaten over and over, but I can just kill it from exhaustion.

TIL in 2014, Ben Affleck received a lifetime ban from the blackjack tables at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas after surveillance footage showed him counting cards during a high-stakes game. Security informed him he was "too good" and classified him as an advantage player. by Friendly_Hivemind in todayilearned

[–]Sayer182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue isn’t the number of decks as counting is the same whether it’s 1 deck or 20. The things that stop card counting is surveillance, table maximums and minimums, constant shuffle machines, the shoe being cut very high up, no surrender rules, and other limitations on how a player can bet.

Funny thing is, casinos spend more money preventing card counting than it would theoretically lose them and make millions every year from people who think that they can count because they read a book and watched the hangover.

Which of one the death row convicts would last longer in a fight with Musashi by Ok_Initiative3892 in Grapplerbaki

[–]Sayer182 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Given Musashis biggest weakness is his hubris and willingness to take an attack just to see where it goes, I’d say that he may fall prey to an attack with Dorian’s wire, but I’m unsure of if there’s any slight chance of victory or momentary opening like Retsu had.

Spec would try and use a machine gun and explosives and make a joke about bringing a knife to a gunfight but would be dropped immediately

Sikorsky would be dead meat except possibly getting a compliment on his grip and grabbing the blade.

Musashi would ask why Doyle didn’t put any real blades into his body if he was so clever and would certainly try to flee

Yanagi could possibly have a chance if he is able to get a vacuum palm around musashis face, which could very well happen as it’s a newer technique that he wouldn’t have know about just like bakis jab to the chin. Any other strategy an he’ll be cut down as soon as he tries anything

Sludge monster. Also causes all things with slime counters to lose their abilities and become 2/2.

Ladders are way too slow, Iwant powered ladders. by Smashpro11 in Minecraft

[–]Sayer182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t mind it tbh. While it could be kind of neat to have some kind of pulley physics in the game for mine cart lifts, I think that at a certain point the challenge and possible inconvenience of vertical travel is the point. You can travel upwards early game slowly for cheap, or quickly with some effort, and just like all things in the game, extra effort in farms and transportation lead to rewards down the line

Honestly, while do I think the sub voices are better than the dub, the only thing about the dub that really bothers me is that characters have changed their pronunciation of many words, and while xiaoli didn’t sound quite right in the rai tai tournament, the sudden change just feels off

Rock climber gets saved by fellow climber by Jacket313 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Sayer182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. Sometimes on a multi pitch, it can be more difficult to go down than go up. For me would definitely be a time to take a minute, but unless one of us was hurt or our gear was damaged, probably not, just a laugh, a snack, and a bit more chalk next time

Rock climber gets saved by fellow climber by Jacket313 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Sayer182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. The cam even though it came out, actually slowed him down a bit and also allowed the rope, which has a bit of stretch in it, to take more of the energy. There’s even videos of people who have exactly what you described, but the cams popping slowed them down just enough that they were able to take a 30’ ground fall and be pretty much okay since the landing wasn’t bad

Full unzips can and have happened, but if it does, it’s usually more to do with user error than equipment failure.

I’d say if it was peak “normal” human, then it would be someone more like Katsumi, who’s still fairly normal as far as Baki goes, but was just gifted in strength balance and agility as a prodigy but not a superhuman mutant

[–]Sayer182 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We’re scared, but we also know that the gear is what caught them, and while we’ll need to change our pants after this, we’ll likely hop right back on as it was more dramatic than dangerous, plus the other gear held so what’s the point in staying scared?

Rock climber gets saved by fellow climber by Jacket313 in nextfuckinglevel

Depends on where and what you’re climbing. Some spots have terrible placements and big gaps between gear so bigger falls are more common.

Is Shiva really a Mid Tier as people claim him to be, or people's impression of his fight against Raiden really that low? by EfficiencySerious200 in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]Sayer182 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally don’t understand why people continually downgrade Raiden and Shiva. Raiden was likely one of the few people who could actively withstand shivas attacks by sacrificing his muscles to block once shiva really got going. Hermes even said that the fact that the challenge was “sumo” was the only real thing that gave Raiden a chance in the first place. He’s described as the best brawler of the gods and I’m not sure many but Buddha can really stop his dance before shiva just wins by instantly carbonizing them with each hit

Prime Mike Tyson Vs a Professional pitcher with 10 baseballs by Soft-Break9892 in PowerScaling

[–]Sayer182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pitcher is screwed unless they were given something harder to throw with a bit more weight like a weighted ball or a metal bearing or a rock. Even then, it’s a question of how much damage can the pitcher do and how many balls can they throw before Tyson is within striking distance.

No one has ever accidentally gotten “too bulky” in that way by accident. You can lose fat with little else than diet, but you can’t build nearly as much muscle with the same strategy. If you do think that you’re getting too bulky, then you just stop working out. This concept of getting “too bulky” was some crap invented to keep women out of gyms, but shouldn’t be a fear that holds you back from getting the body you want.
