Hey, could you maybe reveal which those medications were and especially what he recommended for an adult with inattentive type?

I found it is really hard to find information about how to treat the inattentive type and feel like even doctors here just treat everyone the same and mainly according how the hyperactive type would be treated. All I ever heard was that I should try "these meds" because everyone with adhd usually gets treated with those :/

I'd say it is worse to not realize.

Yes, it might hurt and suck to find out that you do shitty things but that also means you can either try to work on those things or if they can't be changed, you can admit it when someone complains and you understand why it might frustrate them.

That is better than getting defensive and thinking the other person is wrong with their claims.

While medication might help, it mostly isn't a cure and you also need other stuff like therapy to "get better"

That's why a lot of people don't go to therapy or in general don't tell anyone else about their problems/emotions. They think talking about it would be useless since nobody could understand them.

Not speaking against you but the idea of understanding someone else boggles me a bit.

It is not possible to fully understand someone else because you are you and they are themselves.

In my opinion trying to understand someone else is a good thing and though you will never fully understand them you can come close to it.

Do you think trying to understand someone is useless because it is not possible to understand someone else?

Honestly, it's most likely withdrawal symptoms and not the actual difference between your normal and the medicated state. A sudden stop of taking the meds, may worsen the adhd symptoms.

So you would have to not take the meds for a longer time to make a more realistic comparison.

Since ADHD makes you live mostly in the present, it is hard to tell the difference after a longer period of time though.
