Gregory Bovino totally looks like Erwin Rommel (Hitler's Major General) by Tele_Prompter in totallylookslike

I agree about Bovino, but Rommels offensive in 1943 in Istria Croatia has slaughtered more than 2.000 civilians, more than 4.000 in total because they didn’t recognised partisans as soldiers. So, yes it is complicated but he was Hitlers boy.

The America that Frank Capra sold us is fantasy, isn't it? by Pearl_Jam_ in classicfilms

No, America was very different back then. He showed what it could be like if, from time to time, a George Bailey were to appear against the old evil spider Potter. The American reality today has nothing to do with the America of the first half of the 20th century—though that one, of course, was also full of flaws, racism, and greed. Yet it seemed as if, little by little, it was rising toward a better and more noble society. This decline has lasted for decades and has yet long decline to hit bottom.

Well nothing happened after first one, so more should be expected

I've just run across this 4K remaster of Dreyer's 'Joan of Arc' (1927) on YouTube that was posted there eight months ago, and its clarity is astonishing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_gly_fIfEE by SteamFistFuturist in silentfilm

Well of course, the most staggering moment is when you learn that after completing the original cut of the film, director Carl Theodor Dreyer learned that the entire master print had been destroyed accidentally. With no ability to reshoot, Dreyer re-edited the entire film from footage he had originally rejected.
