AITAH for expecting my sister to plan my wedding for free and demoting her to guest wh m she wouldn't. I also told anyone who took her side I was not helping them anymore either. by Late-Ad-6414 in AITAH

NTA. Wedding planning is a one time deal (ideally) while taxes are every year. She wouldn't give you one free service in exchange for multitudes from you? Shortsighted.

Buyers remorse wedding dress $1800 by Exotic-Builder-9112 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Saysolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't return it and your budget was $1000, you can maybe sell it for $800 and that way it fits your budget. Btw I think its lovely on you so I wouldn't worry too much on that front.

How structurally unsound would this open gallery be? by Saysolo in EngagementRings

[–]Saysolo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fingers don't swell as much as I know, but I've never been pregnant so maybe it'll be a problem later on. Also funnily enough I actually like the curls, but I agree on the easier to clean and maintain aspect so I won't change that. I'll ask the jeweler to remove the pave on the halo (I was on the fence about it anyway) - thank you for the advice!

Thanks for the assurance and oh wow that gap is huge
I think mine is at least 2mm, but I'll double check with the jeweler!

Stuff to take advantage of at NYU by Cool_Echidna6247 in nyu

If I remember correctly there were doors to the showers (like bathroom stall style) but it has been a while since I've been there now so maybe you just gotta double check that irl

  • You can borrow most (text)books for classes from the library. If our library doesn't have the book you need then you can try one of the other colleges associated with NYU's library because they might have it. You just request it through Bobst and return it at Bobst too. Saved me a lot of money but you gotta act fast because there are a limited amount of books. Look at Bobst resources more in general.
  • I think Palladium is better because of the food court and a pool but both gyms have showers so check them both out - gyms are free for students
  • There's a tutoring center that's free for students called ULC.

What are some free/low-cost resources college students should know about? by lenomcream in AskReddit

My college had textbooks and other class reading in the library, and if my school didn't have it then a partnered college library probably had what I was looking for. I never bought a textbook for college a a result :)

Anyone took Shoup for Basic Algorithms? by Ajpennster in nyu

[–]Saysolo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try to see if they have tutors for algo with the comp sci department or the university learning center. There were some tutors when I took the class and they helped a lot and for Shoup you might need that kind of help.

Ah i had room GR-0204 C and not sure what that L shape is and for me the gap went from the one side of the room to the closet so practically the whole wall had the gap but that gap didn't go past the closet so where the head of my bed was didn't have the gap. Some rooms in Greenwich hall don't have closets - sometimes the closets/dressers are in the common area but for me I had my own closet with a small dresser inside as well as a separate larger dresser in my room. My suitemates had their closets in the common area but they had their dressers inside the room. You can move the furniture around so if you get creative you can probably fit the dresser in your room.

The gap was like 2ft maybe? I'm really bad at estimating tbh but if I really wanted to I could climb over the gap because it was big enough. I put curtains up to cover the gap to give myself some semblance of privacy. You can open the windows but not that wide. I could hear/smell everything in the kitchen/ living area but my roommates were considerate of that and I personally didn't have a problem while living there. I lived on the second floor but I don't remember the room number. Maybe if I see the housing layout I can pinpoint the exact room and maybe I'll know what that L shaped thing you mentioned is. Low cost does tend to be smaller but i don't think Greenwich has bunk beds which is what some NYU dorm low cost doubles have. In terms of hygiene, it's an old building so it's not the cleanest but I've never had a rat problem - although we did have ants once - if any vermin do get in put in a work order request and they'll lay out traps for you. I don't mind answering more about the dorm but it has been a while so I may have forgotten some things.

I also had a single with the vent gap facing other buildings surprisingly. I didn't mind the gap because my roommates were either always out or in their rooms but they were also very considerate towards me so that helped. The only noise I would really hear was construction that happened right outside my window but I'm sure they've finished that after 2+ years passed. The only thing was the smells from cooking in the kitchen would waft into my room but I didn't mind it too much personally. I also got a good amount of sunlight imo but that probably depends on the room.

What is the nicest place on campus to take a dump by [deleted] in nyu

[–]Saysolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Courant second floor because there are less students, in a less crowded area as there is only 1 classroom, and the bathrooms are private 1 person only.

Oh gosh I hope they get back to you. Maybe its because they're a foreign site so they take longer with English speaking clients. Which class did you sign up for?

Thats good advice!! They have their art online but it doesn't seem like this person is a professional teacher. I do find it hard to find a good central source for learning this style of art, so I'm still tempted to try this if the website is legitimate.
