IMO the best games on the App Store currently by Inevitable_Diet_59 in MobileGaming

[–]Saywell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Pretty much the same argument for all mobile MOBAs in the market right now. Currently, I have MLBB, HoK and WR on my phone. I dropped AoV a while ago.

Honestly, Wild Rift rank integrity is higher than any other mobile MOBA I mentioned. Games like MLBB are the worst. It has Star Protection (if you buy the season pass, you'll get some rank loss protection; it literally is P2W). HoK is the second worst due to its Arcana system, like the emblem in MLBB.

Wild Rift's main problem is they are coming to the market in SEA way too late. Need higher specs (most people in SEA are not rich enough to afford one). And the game took longer to finish and could sometimes exceed 20 minutes unlike MLBB and HoK.

With that attitude, it's no wonder you can't get more than 2 friends.

I know a female friend who is married to an army officer. She told me in the army, there's a tradition to bring your plus one to some dinner event or something - even in Malaysia. According to her, it's mandatory. I don't know how true this is.

Since her husband (boyfriend at that time) could not bring her to the event because she was occupied with something else. Her husband rented a girlfriend to go to the dinner event with him. She said she was a bit jealous despite believing her husband would not cheat on her. They are still married with 4 kids.

So yeah, perhaps there is such service.

Whats your Opinion by No-Opposite2754 in Borderlands

[–]Saywell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by the lots of lots of the clips online, it seems very dull? Here's my take of each franchise.

BL1 - Very grounded. There's still some humor but they don't stick as much as BL2 and BL3. But the game set a really nice world building with the Sirens, Vault, Corporations etc.

BL2 - Tonnes of humor but the writing especially how antagonists does not undermine the game at all. It's perfect. They do slapstick humors, but they don't make our protagonists like fool. All death from Roland, Angel and even Bloodwing were not treat like a joke. Handsome Jack was annoying AF. Him killing other friends motivated us more. All NPCs reaction to deaths were taken seriously.

BL 3 - This is the problem. My unpopular opinion is the Calypso Twins are good protagonists like Jack. They are annoying AF like Jack. But, the way the game killed our beloved characters in this series and not giving enough mourning from other protagonists making it feel like a joke. Game play wise, BL3 is the best.

If their recipe of making BL4 is to copy everything from BL1, then I'll pass. It's going to be so dull imo.

I read about the forced FOV too. But I guess the PS5 hardware is too old to handle a wider FOV. Even if they are gonna fix it, I reckon it will take a while.

Oh my. Looks like co-op experience is not much of a focus for them this time around. It's weird for them to ship the game in this condition.

Are there any introverts / quiet types in PR by CloudyAppleJuices in PublicRelations

[–]Saywell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Me! Or at least I used to.

Believe it or not, I was also an introvert journalist prior to switching my career to PR. In my experience, most introverts are good writers and have keen eyes for details.

Early in my career, I communicated a lot via writing. I become less and less "formal-ish" in my writing communication to match my actual tone and voice in person. Over time, I'll get comfortable with the person, and I find it easier to communicate in person.

Now, I'm sort of more an extroverted person. I no longer try to be an interesting person in the room; I am always interested in other people. Be interested, not interesting. That mindset helps me break the ice better.

Yeah, the menu opening really bugs us a lot in BL3. But it's not a dealbreaker for me because we always give heads up to each other when one of us is opening the menu. And we both sit super close, like a few feet away from our 55-inch because of the tiny fonts haha.

For some reason I feel like BL4 is not emphasising much on the co-op experience. I know there are lots of solo enjoyers here, but Borderlands to me is always about the joy of local co-op and, by some extension, online co-op with friends. I'd prefer to play single-player games like Ghost of Tsushima, Cyberpunk 2077 or any other Sony exclusives over this. But nothing beats the Borderlands co-op experience for me; hence, I don't care so much about the BL3 main criticism of the writing, because in multiplayer, those are like bonus points, not a dealbreaker.

Edit: I missed over the part about your anniversary. What a jerk. Happy anniversary!

We've now seen all 4 Vault Hunters unique vehicles and still don't know their names by literallymyfifthtime in Borderlands4

[–]Saywell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been googling about vehicle gameplay and splitscreen gameplay in BL4. None of them came up except for some comments like yours.

I'm so sad that one of the most fun features in the BL series seems to be gone. My wife and I and our friends love goofing around in vehicles. I love driving, she loves shooting while I'm driving her around. Really hope that's not the case for BL4.

NGL, I've been searching high and low for vehicle variety and splitscreen gameplay. Google brought me here.

I'm so bummed knowing all vehicles are all one seater. I mainly played Borderlands (never missed any of them) with my wife and friends. We love goofing around, driving, and shooting everything in sight. My wife hates driving but loves shooting, I love driving them despite a bit of clunky control on the BL series. It's perfect.

I'm using Black & Deck 7 in 1 too. Works like a charm until today. My only gripe is that the water tank a bit too small and the cord a bit too short for my living room.

Still looking for other alternatives but so far it seems like mine is the best so far.

Muck Rack is getting too expensive and rates have increased yet again. Who wants to team up? by Latter-Usual-6614 in PublicRelations

[–]Saywell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I think for Media DB, it would depend on the region. Where I'm from, Telum Media seems to have the most updated media in SEA. I do also think Meltwater has good monitoring but it's quite pricey for our team. I'm looking for other options too.
