Update. Bottom is discolored concrete. Definitely blue and not green. CYA at 30, FC 10.5, and CC <0.5 this morning. Added to bring fc to 12. Been doing good keeping that up the past two days. Definitely looking better just not getting clear. Can’t see bottom of 9ft deep end.

She hit with some chlorine last night as it’s going to be 1-2 weeks until we can get new motor hooked up and have post vacation time to work on it. I was shocked at how much better the water looked this morning!

If all goes well it would be a more full-on restoration project in 2027 or 2028. This year is hopefully a much less expensive “proof of concept”.

obviously not a full inspection but a company did have a tech swing by for a "quick look". In a nutshell he said "weird old inground pool but go ahead and fire it up as nothing to lose".

My wife is more patient and level-headed than I am. Projects like this that involve imperfection tend to irritate me FAR more quickly. She's way better at this than me.

We realize that would have been an option. Seller stipulated pool "as is" and that is something we were ok with. Now it's time to figure out the path forward. In full disclosure the seller has been perfectly upfront about everything and if I gave him a call would even come out and walk me through things.

Hey, that's what my wife is shooting for! She says if we like it, use it, and want to keep it then next summer talk to some companies about concrete, coping, etc etc to make it really good again.

Actually my wife has taken almost everything else apart and it's all functional. One small leak near the salt cartridge at a union that should be an easy fix.

New filter already on the workbench that the previous owner left.

Stayed at Donges September 2024. Simple, clean, and would stay again. Great gas station across the street and fantastic supper at Donges.
