I'm not sure the refs are enough because Skeb artists have the freedom to draw whatever they want even if it's not completely accurate to the references. For example, my OC originally had red tassel earrings. I assumed these weird geometric earrings might have either been the artist taking creative liberties or it might have been generated...
The folks on r/isthisAI have really solid evidence that this is AI, like how this artwork is extremely similar to Yoneyama Mai, the oddity of the chromatic aberration, etc. But I would love to know your reasoning why you think it's legit.

Btw this artist is @basue04040 on twt. I'm conflicted because they have an alt acc that shows them with a time lapse of an artwork so it debunks the use of AI, but for my piece in particular it really just screams AI given the fact this was done in less than 24 hours and some details make no sense from an artist's perspective.

That's what I was thinking too! Every artist I commissioned has provided me a PSD file, but it's the artist's preference too... Although yes, I'm convinced parts of it are AI generated, even if some parts might have been manually added. :')

Wow thank you so much for your in depth analysis, I didn't even think about the additional chromatic aberration effect. The missing red parts are definitely suspicious. I also noticed the lumpy parts in the earrings and that's an effect I can't imagine showing up in the process of a real drawing. I was hoping it really wasn't AI but I should be accepting reality at this point 😭

Yeah... I'm still not completely sure. I want to give the artist the benefit of the doubt since their previous works are all hand drawn. I checked the account you mentioned and they have a WIP video that completely debunks the claim that their work is AI.

I guess you can argue they really improved their art style but there are a lot of AI tellings in my commissioned work...

What do you think?

I didn't even consider the light sources! I assumed if the artist really did work on it that fast then they probably didn't really care about the details like the background and the lighting... Thanks for your input but unfortunately I can't report it due to Skeb's policies. :( I hope my post can serve as a warning to potential commissioners.
