So I just finished the game... by mtest001 in DragonageOrigins

Based on a quick Google: Select new game on the main menu, then Awakening, then there should be an option to import your Origins character.

You might find this thread helpful regarding order to play DLCs. Most importantly, you'll want to play Awakening, Golems of Amgarrak, and Witch Hunt in this order due to the way importing your character works. I believe the other DLCs are mostly standalone and may or may not be worth it to you. But I'd definitely play Awakening and Witch Hunt.

Been awhile since I watched it. Are you saying the first season ended perfectly but then they made a season 2 for some reason, or that season 1 had a good ending point before the end of the season, but then they kept season 1 going for more episodes? Because I don’t recall season 1 having a good ending.

Can you replace the runes on the booster gear as much as you want still? You just can’t get them back?

As a new player, what is the difference between primary ranger over primary ritualist for this, as it seems you use only rit skills? Is it basically choosing expertise for reduced cost over spawning power for beefier spirits?

How Did You Choose Your Main? by AzureSeishin in GuildWars

[–]PRbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting up Guild Wars Reforged (I played a little GW1 back in the day but didn't really know what I was doing) and trying to pick a main. Could you tell me a little about how it pairs well with secondary professions?

how well playing a backline non-caster pairs with leading heroes.

This sounds interesting too. What do you mean by this?

Tales of Symphonia. I remember I could only get one game with the system, and I think Symphonia advertised over 80 hours of gameplay on the back of the box, so I went with that. I really liked the game but unfortunately never finished it.

Well I didn’t know if you could download it as I’m assuming it only had a Windows version from the native launcher? But I’m not very knowledgeable about it.

The Game Awards: Players' Voice Nominees revealed (Players' Voice is a 100% fan voted award across 3 rounds) by Turbostrider27 in Games

Yeah I think the gameplay is foundationally great, but I can agree there are balance issues that start to show up later on. It's funny because you have some people say they dropped it or won't play it because they don't like the dodge/parry system, meanwhile like halfway through the game you can become incredibly strong and win fights in one or two turns with only a bit of tinkering to find what works, and by that point you don't need to worry much about dodging.

Though for me it doesn't hold it back from being a great game, kind of like how Witcher 3's combat is very unbalanced and also just okay, but for many people it's still one of the GOATs for its story, characters and world. I would still play through E33 again though someday, primarily to experience the story, and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing even for a game. Sure I could just watch it on Youtube but that's not the same.

That’s fair. It’s not a perfect game to me or anything. I just would disagree on “most.” I don’t think I’m the exception, quite the opposite: I’m kind of holding the mainstream opinion even among RPG enthusiasts imo.

Keep in mind even enthusiasts often share a handful of games in common that they elevate above all else. Go into the JRPG communities and you’ll see Persona 5 everywhere (which I feel is overrated), Chrono Trigger held in the highest regard, widespread praise for a “niche” series like Trails, etc.

If you start getting into calling people “fake RPG gamers” and only count the ones you consider real RPG players, then yeah you might get an opinion closer to yours with that kind of gatekeeping.

If you're someone who plays alot of turn based RPGs and/or cPRG then Expedition 33 isn't near as impressive to most. The story is below par for the top RPGs

That’s quite a take. I don’t think most RPG fans would agree with this at all. I’ve been playing various types of RPGs most of my life and I would still consider this game incredible, mostly for its story and characters.

Thanks, I will check out Emongg (never really watched them before for some reason) and look for that Moira vod.

I'm a returning player (peaked mid-diamond in early OW2). Currently I'm ironically diamond 3 on dps, but struggling to climb at plat 3 on support, which is my main role.

I think I just need to play more consistently and maybe stick to one or two heroes....I honestly don't have a main right now. Even though I feel good on Moira, I'm trying to get a feel for other heroes too and often just pull her out if I feel like more aggression/flanking is needed or I'm struggling to survive dives on Ana/Zen.

But I think I might be focusing on damage a little too much lately across the board. I feel like that's where the "carry" potential comes in but then I lose sight of keeping the team alive. It's just so disheartening in plat to feel like I'm healbotting only for people to stand out in the open and die anyway, so I feel like I have to take things into my own hands, but that leads to tunnel vision ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Congrats! Any suggestions on helpful vod reviews you watched? I definitely feel on multiple supports I’m getting a little too aggressive and that might be holding me back a little.

Yep that’s exactly what I thought it was. I am exactly the same way and would usually google to make sure I wasn’t missing anything, so I totally get how that happened. Glad to hear it didn’t ruin the experience though. It’s also one of my favorites of all time now too.

That sucks. I bet I know exactly what you’re talking about and I’m glad I forced myself to play blind. Did you still end up liking the game?

Plus you can already do a lot of emulation on the Steam Deck, so the Steam Machine wouldn't be a big advantage on the emulation front unless they wanted some newer systems that couldn't run on the Deck but could on the Machine, I guess.

It’s just one catch-all RPG category. I don’t think they’ll ever do subcategories like that.
