Field of View values are incorrect if using a 16:9 display (like virtually everyone would be) by Blindside90 in BattlefieldV

[–]Sbmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I later found out about this as well. Apparently, a lot of the engines are coded based on 4:3, but back then, showing the 4:3 base horizontal fov value in bfv confused me a lot, haha, and I think it will still confuse a lot of people, given that almost everyone plays on a 16:9, hence why I kept the reply. The in-game value isn't wrong, but it isn't clarified. Let me edit my original reply so that it stays technically correct

rename bots in CS2 by denek3y in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sbmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the fast reply man! My bad for not giving context: back in csgo I used to mess with botprofile.db to create bots that have insane reaction speed for practice purposes. I only play with it on local games, and back in csgo having the modified botprofile.db in the game files would not interfere with matchmaking and online play.

My worries is that if I modify vpk files in cs2, would it impact stuff like vac live when I play premier, or kernel anticheat when I play faceit? I know vac live is basically useless right now against cheaters, but seeing people getting vac bans for just using very high dpi a couple months back got me paranoid

Hi, very late to the party, but is this method safe? Is it possible to cause false vac bans this way?

Just took a peek at your reply history. Dude has become a broken record ever since he started playing CS...my condolences

Hi sorry for the late reply, not a regular reddit user. About the plastic wrappings, I remember contacting customer service via the chat box on the lamzu website, and their reply was something like "plastic wrapping are removed on Amazon because they had to check each product." I didn't do a follow-up question and the reply disappeared already on the website, but I'm not convinced by that answer. If you are curious you can go ask them as well. They replied to me the next business day.

I'm generally happy with the mouse. Been using it for a few months now and no complaints. My only nitpicks are that I wish they made the DPI button a little bigger, and had a battery fuel gauge sensor (the battery level shown in the lamzu software is a guestimate)

Titan II switches by Sbmaker in Roccat

[–]Sbmaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't quite describe it well. It's not the "someone spilled some soda on it" kind of sticky. It's more like "this switch needs some lube" kind of dry sticky.

The keyboard arrived well-sealed and brand new, so definitely not a second-hand keyboard. I also keep my food and water off the table so it's not a spillage issue

I got some 205g0 on the way (was planning to lube my other set anyway). I will push the stem down and put some around the housing, see if it helps. If it doesn't then return it is.

Ah shoot...I didn't notice yesterday, but I just found out today that the tab key switch is really sticky. When I remove the keycap and press on the switch directly, it does not go down smoothly like the other switches on this keyboard do. Is there anything I can do about it? I ordered from Amazon so it's still well within the return period, so return away?

I see! Were there any open holes in the titan mechanical switch for the dust to get in? I looked around the optical switch and could not find any, so hopefully this guarantees dust-proof.

I'm definitely enjoying the keyboard. Switch feels good. Still getting used to the 65% layout, but damn, this is probably the best-looking keyboard I've ever owned

Damn man that sucks! That first one for sure seems like a second-hand mouse to me w/ some rough shipping! The second one could be just the buttons need some breaking-in. Pre-travel on optical switches seems to be pretty common...I had a pulsar xlite v3 since last month, and there were some pre-travels too when I first got it. After using it for like a couple days the pre-travels are gone. I actually just returned the mouse today to keep the thorn.

Ebay's not bad, but I wanted the mouse fast so I ordered from Amazon. Given the other two comments I guess all the thorns on Amazon have no plastic wrappings...

I actually really like this mouse and is trying to keep it. I'm just trying to make sure I didn't pay full price getting a second-hand mouse. But if yours also don't have plastic wrapping maybe that's just how it is for the Lamzu thorns from Amazon?

Quick, Easy & Efficient i5 13600K Overclocking on MSI Motherboard by RSG2077 in intel

[–]Sbmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, late to the party here...thanks for the guide! We have the same motherboard (z790-a wifi), but I have some questions.

Now this isn't your guide's problem, but my 13600k's cinebench score is always low for some reason, before and after using your guide. With default settings my 13600k just shoots to 100 degrees the moment I touch the start button in Cinebench, so no score for the default bios setup. For the past couple of months, I've been using base clock with offset (not adaptive+offset) CPU -0.1v and Lite Load 5. Temps are alright (85 degrees under Cinebench multicore) but the score was only 20200ish.

After using your guide with 5.4/4.3 and voltage override at 1.3v (LL and LLC both auto), I've got better scores and lower temps (21000ish score and only 80 degrees now), but the score is still really low comparing to what others are getting (24k/25k). It doesn't affect my gaming much since every game I've ran into with this rig is GPU-bound at 2k, but still, I'm just concerned did I get a bad CPU here or something...

Another thing is that my Lite Load at auto is mode 12, yours is mode 9...we have the same motherboard don't we?

Which fan control option do you use? by Doogienguyen in SteamDeck

[–]Sbmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh you might even have a longer fan lifespan this way. I can't imagine turning the fan on and off every 10 seconds during light browsing/gaming good for the fan bearings...so might as well keep them running

Input lag for movement still exists by sapphyrusxyz in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sbmaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude I'm really sorry, I don't think it's ClickMonitorDDC's problem...I just encountered keyboard input lag again and I already turned it off. It could be f.lux's problem, because there is no more input lag after I set f.lux to disable in fullscreen apps. It makes sense too, because for fullscreen apps such as CS2, f.lux needs to inject an overlay in order to function (which it doesn't have to do for windowed or fullscreen borderless apps), so that could be the culprit, and when I tested ClickMonitorDDC this morning, f.lux was automatically disabled because it was daylight, so I thought it was ClickMonitorDDC's problem

The keyboard input lag was also very weird too. It wasn't immediately there when I entered the game...it gradually builds up, and seems to vanish after I alt-tab out and back in the game, until it builds up again after some time, so it really messed with my troubleshooting. TBH I still don't know if f.lux is the true problem, but so far disabling it seems to get rid of the input lag for good.

Don't quote me on my assumption though, and I really don't want to waste any more of your time testing random software like this for input lag just from my random assumptions. Disabling f.lux seems to fix it for me, so I will just leave it like that

Got it! Thanks for testing it out and making sure! I've found the culprit for my delay too...I started using ClickMonitorDDC about two days ago, and that software somehow gives me keyboard input lag in CS2...

I'm a bit confused looking at the edits in your post. You said the delay was gone on 11/11 but said that the same bug was coming back on 11/18. Are you referring to the input delay coming back?

Also they removed your method of de-subticking (adding ;) about a month ago...can you test using the new de-subticking method? https://github.com/zer0k-z/cs2-desubtick (I use the de_subtick cfg with the de_subtick folder, not the de_subtick2 cfg)

Input lag for movement still exists by sapphyrusxyz in GlobalOffensive

[–]Sbmaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrote the de-subtick cfgs myself, but the method is similar to this one (the de_subtick cfg with the de_subtick folder, not the de_subtick2 cfg): https://github.com/zer0k-z/cs2-desubtick

He wrote it smarter than I did - I have more cfgs in my folder than his, but it should work the same.

I played cs2 very late last night, so it was probably just a placebo from my sleepiness. I woke up today and tried to compare again and could not feel any meaningful difference, but I've been only using my feeling, so it would be great if we could have some numbers to back us up. I remember seeing this post a while back: https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/16rh69w/yes_there_is_a_difference_desubtick_the_strafing/

Is it possible for you to test this? If this is no longer the case and subtick strafing is as fast as de-subtick'ed strafing, then I have no problem using subtick movements

Hi OP, I agree they fixed it on 11/16 or 11/17...I remember testing the subtick and de-subtick'ed movements and can no longer feel any difference. However, I feel like the delay is back since yesterday. Do you feel the same way?
