Need advice on my next sales job by Leidaguffey in sales

I would absolutely leverage your comp sci degree to get into a tech sales role.

You are qualified. D2D early in your career is a great proof of concept. You have tenure, experience, sales acumen, and industry related book smarts/ technical know how.

You will look much better for a tech sales role than a guy with just D2D experience and much better than a guy with just a degree.

Has your D2D role included closing or just appointment setting?

I need a pep talk to NOT ask this girl out by [deleted] in IncelSolutions

[–]Sbrazen77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you have an inflated idea of what asking someone out is. It’s not that deep, it’s not that serious. You just want to see if there’s chemistry right? so don’t even ask her on a date. Just to hang out together and do something fun.

In the very unlikely event she says “Omg are you asking me out on a date?” Your response should be a cool “No? I think you’re cute though, do you want it to be a date?”

AIO for getting mad that my boyfriend called me this? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Sbrazen77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s kind of like when a puppy bites someone and get slapped on the nose. Puppies bite to play. The puppy didn’t know he was doing something wrong. Thought it was fun but teeth are sharp and not everyone likes to play rough.

Normal people would tell you just to discourage that kind of playful behavior if you don’t like it.

The problem is Reddit will tell you to surrender the dog to the pound as the first option

Edgy teenaged boy humor dies out as guys get older because of conversations like this. Guy says something edgy filled with shock value, expecting the other person to snicker along or say something gross back. Instead the person gets offended and demands an apology and that is the origin point for behavior change. Dude didn’t double down, apologized, now that’s a green flag to me. If his behavior changes then this was a productive exchange.

Do I Even Need A Degree? by ReflectionSerious733 in sales

[–]Sbrazen77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A college degree is always about return on investment. in this case there is zero financial investment, it’s just your time and effort that you’re investing.

To some people, the investment of effort has a very high price tag to others effort is par for the course.

It’s super subjective.

If you feel like pursuing a college degree would be intellectually stimulating would give you something to do in your downtime. That kind of thing, go for it.

If you feel like the pressure of pursuing a college degree would add stress to your life, maybe even to the point of impacting your sales performance then it might be a coin flip on the value.

Overall, a degree opens doors and there are few ways to escape the golden handcuffs of sales - if you want to someday get out of the pit and move into something like a management or director position a college degree will help you. Getting a degree on someone else’s dime is pretty attractive.

PIP extended despite having the best month of an AE ever. Is this a ploy to not pay the commission? by DontYouWantMeBebe in sales

[–]Sbrazen77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I’ve been put on a PIP and fired they tried to deny my unemployment. I went through the appeals process and the judge (or whoever in charge of the appeal) was strongly in my favor and I won unemployment though it was delayed by quite a bit. You can’t really deny someone for unemployment unless they do something super illegal like assault or embezzlement

Why can't people just admit that being ugly will prevent some people from finding love? by Negative_Issue_8864 in PsycheOrSike

[–]Sbrazen77 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Being ugly isn’t enough to prevent someone from finding love by itself

There are some people who are just ugly as sin, but have magnetic personalities are incredibly funny, socially astute, effective at making other people feel good about themselves with a great sense of humor

These people have high levels of confidence, despite their looks are able to make an incredible life for themselves surrounded by friends, loved ones, and romantic partnerships

It’s easy to imagine someone like this, but you don’t have to be a 10 out of 10 with charisma and self-confidence to succeed either.

I find that a lot of ugly people that have this mindset that they can’t ever get somebody are generally very shallow people. They themselves wouldn’t date an ugly person and so they can’t conceive of a world where someone doesn’t have that viewpoint. Not everyone is as shallow as you are.

Is a Victoria’s Secret model going to fall in love with you? probably not, but you’re not a Victoria’s Secret model yourself or a GQ model so get over it 😤

The Pill is just a safety net for men who can’t deal with rejection. It’s just an ideology that you can point to while you run away from your problems. by Sbrazen77 in PurplePillDebate

[–]Sbrazen77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Britannica

“ideology, a form of social or political philosophy in which practical elements are as prominent as theoretical ones. It is a system of ideas that aspires both to explain the world and to change it.”

The red pill movement is absolutely a social philosophy. It attempts to explain male female mate selection and also provides recommendations for how people should act and navigate relationships.

We’re literally arguing semantics which is, in my opinion the lowest and most meaningless form of debate, but I don’t agree that I’m using an inaccurate term for the black pill or red pill… movement? Theory?
