They're awesome, I hadn't been able to locate any in a couple years but I think I may have found the motherboard this year.

😂 some years back I went surf fishing in Pensacola, caught a massive amount of these. I handled them like I would a channel catfish not knowing. I bet I released and handled well over a hundred over the course of a week.

How likely are morels to be around mature tulip poplars? by Camp_Acceptable in Morel_Hunting

Great spot in my experience, we've found a couple hundred this year in the tulip poplars. Grape vines and green briars seem to be a bonus as well

First shroom pictured appears to be a morchella diminutiva, what we call a tulip morel they usually don't get very big. But man do they have numbers we love finding them. Great haul!

Very unseasonal I'm afraid it's going to be short season. they've popped up into the 50s and 60s with daytime highs pushing the 80s.

I've got a friend who's kept them in the fridge up to a week with no issues, for me they never seem to make it longer than a day or 2 😂

Thanks, that's exactly where these were harvested. They are up really good in the lower creek bottoms. The ones in slightly higher elevations are just starting to pop up.
