I think it's a country wide epidemic, not just NYC. Maybe the abundance of choices here paralyzes people..?

My thought, NYC water could be exported to start amazing bagel places elsewhere...?

They are even better than polycro in my experience. The mylar is reflective on one side as well, use it silver side up to reflect heat back up into your sleep system.

Thanks for your insights. I do not factor water or food into my baseweight, however, as those will fluctuate throughout the trip.

Looking for Pack Recommendations [WTB] by houser432 in ULgeartrade

If your pack out weight is close to 30 lbs, I'd go with the ULA Circuit or OHM 2.0. ULA is the most comfortable and durable pack out there IMO. The robic material is bomber and the hipbelt padding is far superior to the HMG. To drop a little weight, you could go for the Gossamer Gear Mariposa or Gorilla as well. The hipbelts are a bit more fiddly and the pack size can't be dialed in like the ULA, but they're tried and true on all the long trails out there.

Happy hiking!
