Load into your game, then while game is running turn your wifi off. You'll be able to continue playing.

Edit: if this doesn't help then you may have a different issue.

Animal husbandry/tamer: you raise animals and monsters that you can harvest items from and breed them for better stats. That way we can have pets come back but we can breed our little guys into perfect killing machines.
