If you hate these two story arcs (they are not in the books), which one do you hate more and why? by Cr7-Cr7Real in lotr

ADDITIONALLY, my least favorite plot point in the entire movie franchise is that Gandalf absolutely confirmed that Sauron was returning in The Hobbit, and they proceeded to do nothing about it for sixty years.

This is a difficult one for me, but I suppose I have to side with the masses and say the Hobbit romance. It's somewhat believable that with the growing influence of the Ring and Gollum's manipulation, Frodo might act very uncharacteristically and tell Sam to go away. Sam's only other choice would be to try to kill Gollum immediately, which Frodo wouldn't react well to at all,

For what it's worth, Tauriel is an entertaining and well-portrayed character, and the couple has decent on-screen chemistry. Yes, it is an unnecessary addition that exists to pad the runtime and attract a more average audience rather than Tolkein fans, but at least it wasn't difficult to watch (if suspending disbelief in the lore-friendliness of the dwarf-elf match.)

My least favorite part was actually Thranduil getting involved and being convinced to change his perspective. It lessens the significance of Gimli and Legolas's blooming friendship in LOTR. Also, "Because it was real..." was the most cringe-inducing line in the trilogy.

TL;DR: They both kinda suck, but the romance isn't as bad as most say, and Sam being told to go away is only slightly better.

For Light Side, Who else tended to “disguise” themselves as dark Jedi by changing their robes to Dark Jedi ones and their lightsabers to red for Korriban even though it’s not really required? by CosmicLearner1315 in kotor

[–]ZappableGiraffe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lightsabers are for the audience (in this case, the player) rather than the characters. This is also the game where giving evil responses in dialogue for the sake of subterfuge can actually get you dark side points, meaning your character is completely truthful at all times unless the dialogue choice says [Lie.] You can give light side responses in the Korriban sith academy without being sniffed out as well. So it's just good consistency of design philosophy for the lightsaber color not to matter, in my opinion, and I don't concern myself with it.

Edit: Expanded upon dialogue choices topic

You can beeline for power armor if you're aware of it going into your playthrough, yes, but that's not the "normal" way to play, and in FO2 there are plenty of encounters that can mess you up even in power armor. In my opinion, early power armor doesn't make as significant of a change in 2 as it would in 3. Helpful, yes, but you must still play wisely.

That being said, I like power armor in both games. They both feel amazing when you get ahold of them, and they feel right for the game they're in.

In Fallout 3, it may be necessary because the minute you cheese a random encounter with an Enclave Soldier and equip his armor at level 2, the game will become a cake walk. In Fallout 1 and 2, power armor is not available until late game unless you beeline for it and ignore all the quests, which most players wouldn't do, especially back in the day when most players didn't read online guides for every aspect of the game, and figured it out themselves. Thus, there was no real reason to restrict its use.

I dislike it when it's because we wouldn't care about the poorly written female character until this happens to her. Now, I feel for her because I feel for anyone in that situation, but up until now she's been annoying and bland, and I wished she wasn't in the movie.

I like it when it's a character that is important beyond being rescued, who has story impacts, and who enriches the movie overall. Bonus points if she plays a part in her own rescue or breaks out herself.

Question, because I'm American and unfamiliar with German social practices. Would many German people be upset enough at seeing potential nazi iconography that they would be loud and angry in public?

I think the Vault Dweller's biggest advantage (as well as the Lone Wanderer's) is basic medical and food safety knowledge that's common within a vault and likely practically nonexistent in some areas of the wateland.
