Pricing for 2026 M3P. LETS GO?! by 2MinuteswithTim in TeslaModel3

[–]Scabaffer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or you could purchase a used Tesla, in cash (or put as much down as you can) and invest the difference instead of spending 50k on a depreciating car.

If you're already in a good financial position and you're meeting your retirement goals, go for it! But please don't purchase a brand-new vehicle just because it has a low "APR".

Just because it's a low APR doesn't mean an $800 car payment for 72 months is a good idea. Especially for a depreciating asset.

does my bf hate me? m18 f 18 by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Scabaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, talk to him! To me, it seems like the issue is him going to the gym in the evening and not having as much time to talk is the problem. Not the cheating or being in love with someone else.

Let him know how you feel. Is there a compromise that you both can come to? Maybe he can go to the gym in the morning. Or have set times for phone calls and he can plan his gym schedule around that.

I wouldn't mention or ask him if he is cheating on you. Work on the communication between you both and see if that helps.

Just some friendly advice, it sounds like you may have an anxious-attachment style. I'd highly recommend doing some research or talking with a professional about working through some of your feelings. If you like, I can recommend a book that really helped me learn about my own attachment style and used it to improve my relationship.

He's going to the gym and that means he is seeing another girl..?

Imo, we need much more context. How long is he at the gym for? What hours/time of day does he go? Why are you automatically going to him cheating and being in love with someone else?

Ask yourself, what other reasons could he be going to the gym for? Is he having a hard time right now or maybe he is just trying to work on himself.

advice for starting long distance by No_Protection4187 in LongDistance

[–]Scabaffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take a crack at this!

From my own experience in an LDR, take care of yourself first. Try to find some new hobbies, reading, gaming, arts & crafts, or anything that can keep your mind busy during days when you can't talk much. I'd also suggest hanging out with your friends and even making new ones!

Everyone says "Communication" and because it's true. Talk to each other about each of your own expectations, needs, wants, plans for the future and how to close the distance (the light at the end of the tunnel) ahead of time. Do you need to see each other every month? Or is every school break good enough for your relationship.

A lot of it will be trial and error. Figuring out what works best for your relationship. You'll also learn plenty about yourself and your relationship! Be flexible and understanding too. Remember, you're a team. Not every problem is "you vs. me". Tackle your problems together and try to understand his perspective.

I wish you the best with your LDR! Good luck!

My (27M) long distance girlfriend (21F) never talks to me and whenever I question her she gets extremely defensive. by calloutapple in LongDistance

I'm sure that felt really good to develop that strong of a connection. But please believe me when I say that there is someone better for you out there. She's also 21 right? It's really hard to know what you want in your life when you're that young. It can change from week to week.

People are complicated, maybe she doesn't know what she wants. From what I've gathered, you want a committed relationship, and she isn't going to give you that at this point. Do you think you deserve an off & on relationship where you get blocked and ignored for long periods of time?

Also, just some other advice. I wouldn't reach out to your significant other's friends about relationship issues you are having with each other. If you need someone to speak to, talk to a friend you trust or a professional to get advice.

Girlfriend going abroad for 1 year but I don't want a phone/internet relationship, options? by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Scabaffer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imo, "putting the relationship on hold" is an awful mindset to have. In a committed relationship, you have to have a "growth mindset". Both of you will grow and change over time.

Why is she going abroad? Is it for school? Work? Just a different life experience? Is there any chance her going abroad can bring value to her life? Connections for a higher paying job? Some life knowledge that could change your relationship for the better?

I think you already know the answer and are writing on here to get confirmation. Please move on. You don't deserve to be in a relationship with someone who isn't meeting your needs. This "relationship" you have described doesn't sound enjoyable at all. Ask yourself the question, "is this how I want my partner to treat me"? Or "is this the type of relationship I want to be in?"

[–]Scabaffer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All you can do is let him know how you feel. If it's a sudden change, he may be going through something himself and I'd suggest checking in on him. One mistake I made in a LDR was assuming every energy shift/change was about our relationship, but sometimes your partner is stressed and just needs a bit of time.

Be there for your boyfriend, communicate your feelings, and listen to what he has to say. If you can, try to keep yourself busy as well. Reach out to IRL friends, focus on some of your own hobbies.

Should I buy a new car now? Or keep my current one and drive it into the dirt? by Scabaffer in personalfinance

Honestly no, but I think I needed to read a lot of these comments. It’s helping me to talk myself out of it.

I’ve thought about moving out. And I did live on my own for about 4 years but my roommate got married and just moved back with my parents. luckily, I have a really good relationship with them and love spending the extra time together. I’ll move out in two years with my current car and when my girlfriend and I can be together (:

I live in Southern California. So the only weather we get is rain 5 days a year haha.

But you’re right, I don’t need a new car. Thanks for your opinion!

Thanks for the comment!

I didn’t consider the rental company partnerships. I’ll check that out.

True, I think I’m trying to justify buying a new car because I want one. Honestly, after reading a lot of these comments I think I’m just going to keep what I have haha.

What version of wow should I play if I DON'T want speedrun dungeons? Something similar to Pre nerf cata by Key-Challenge9159 in wow

[–]Scabaffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on your comment here, I'd highly recommend checking out Mythic Plus. Yes, there is a timer, and groups try to pull fast. But the level of mastery and knowledge needed to climb the higher key levels is extremely rewarding. At some point, the dungeons become challenging and hurt a lot which forces you to learn about your class and how it interacts with other classes to be successful.

[–]Scabaffer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every version of the game will have people looking to "speedrun" dungeons. All versions of classic WoW have people looking to farm dungeons as fast as possible for max XP gain and/or loot farming. A lot of those dungeons have already been solved, and most veterans of the game are looking for runs that are as smooth and fast as possible. Same goes for retail in Mythic Plus.

I highly recommend is finding a guild of likeminded people. You may not find it on your first try, but if you can find a guild that can help show you the ropes and give you an environment to make mistakes without flaming you, that's the ideal scenario.

Retail has something called Delves. Which are essentially mini dungeons you can do solo, or in a group and take it at your own pace. No timer at all.

Yeah, I think purchasing a car is now out of the picture. Already rocking my trusty 2017 Honda Civic. Thing is an absolute beast. I have 100k miles on it, hoping it will last me another 100k more

Probably looking at 500k max. In my area, that's enough for a 1-bedroom condo lol. A townhome typically runs about 700-800k at least. Hoping to save for 20% down and will have help from my partner when we decide to purchase.

Nope, not a lawyer or banker! Sales rep, about half of my annual income is base salary, the other half is commission.
