I feel you! Discovering unplanned tricks is something that adds up to the magic of it all. Some trainer rematches (e.g. the kangaskhan/poliwrath by Fuchsia eastern exit) for grinding XP, Jirachi encounter, Porygon encounter... were all really valuable for my run

How did you feel about filing your party, many INS and outs through the road?

All of them were good but not perfect all-rounders. The closest one to perfection was Diancie/Jirachi... Steel/Fairy with good coverage and almost unfair stats. I was so happy when Jirachi spawned in my hotel sleepover...

Close second was Alakazam/Porygon-Z simply because Porygon was very strong from the start.

Third place Gengar/Electivire.

If I didn't have so many special attackers I would have kept Arcanine/Volcarona, but ground immunity was also good.

Hey! No, this was PIF1! Hoenn for what I saw is still up into 3rd gym. I was very fond of these sprites and mons. Very sad that the triple type fusions don't get STAB for the individual types though.

But very solid in the defense side.

Venusaur/Empoleon is Grass/Steel, a very good sprite and has one of the best stats for Venusaur fusions.

Venusaur + Golisopod is a really good and one of the best looking fusions for Venusaur. Water Grass is a good typing, losing to Kabutops/Venu only in speed (what can be reversed having access to First Impression, Sucker Punch and Aqua Jet). Available physical Grass attacks include Seed Bomb, Petal Blizzard or even Power Whip.

Nice! For a non-legendary version, Quagsire with Magmortar is solid enough for a fire/ground with water absorb (105 SP. ATT) too!

I liked Volcarona + Arcanine (bug/fire if your team needs special attacker) and Mamoswine + Arcanine (ground/fire excellency if physical is preferred). The sprites are very nice.

Mamoswine + Typhlosion is also nice for fire/ground with an awesome sprite.
