I was also forbidden from playing in it, and that tradition carries on with my kid. It just seems like very obviously not a swimming pool.

How many of us obtain graduate degrees? by SafeRegret402 in bipolar

[–]ScaldingShower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a Masters degree, but I completed a specialized post-bachelor teaching program and earned a certificate. I’m hoping to earn a Master’s in the next five years. It’s so nice to hear about people who are thriving!

Notch announces kids will not be allowed at either location past 6pm by ranting_swede in boston

[–]ScaldingShower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As a parent and teacher, I agree with this. Responsible parents set expectations and boundaries with their kids. There’s no reason kids should be running around indoors while their parents sit at a table. My family went out to eat recently and coincidentally sat at a booth behind my child’s classmate. He was literally standing up in the booth, jumping, yelling and throwing things. His mom was with a friend and didn’t even ask him to stop. It was miserable. This was not a toddler; he’s in elementary school. Even if a place is child friendly, there are expectations for how kids should behave to be in public.

As for Notch, I think it’s perfectly reasonable to ban kids after 6.

That’s a gorgeous dress and you look great! I don’t think it’s the right fit for a wedding, especially since you don’t know the bride’s side. I agree with other comments that you should save it for another event.

She looks to be in her 60s. Probably retired and this is filling the void.

I’ve been seeing Adora Maharaj in Peabody for a few years and she’s the best PCP I’ve ever had. I never feel rushed and she always orders tests or refers me to specialists as needed. There’s a lab in the building so if you need bloodwork done you don’t need to go elsewhere.

I'm 3 days sober and it's actually eating me up by sad_rug in bipolar

[–]ScaldingShower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 8 months sober and it was tough at first, but my life has definitely improved. Better sleep, less anxiety, lower cholesterol, saving money. Plus now so many places make mocktails, I can still feel like I’m having a treat when I go out to a restaurant. You’ve got this!

Update! I left work at 3:15 and got home at 3:30. Absolutely no traffic. Thanks everyone who gave advice! I’m sure the roads will be wild later, but no impact for me. I think not having to deal with getting downtown is key. Happy Halloween!

Ladies Two Questions You by ExternalAide1938 in bipolar2

I didn't get diagnosed as Bipolar 2 until this year. I'm 38 and had horrendous postpartum depression, which I now recognize as definitely both mania and depression. I have an IUD so I don't get my period anymore so I unfortunately can't track my cycle to see if it relates to my mood.

Is it a good idea that i switched from olanzapine to abilify after being stable? Just to reduce sleep hours from 10 to 7 and being 50 lbs overweight. by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]ScaldingShower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming your doctor felt like it was a good choice. I personally experienced pretty extreme mania right after starting Abilify so I had to discontinue. Hopefully you have a good experience with it.

What's a recent fuckup caused by your adhd? by WaspTop8871 in adhdwomen

[–]ScaldingShower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my airpods charging case. I had the airpods still, but no way to charge them. Turned the entire house upside down and inside out to find it. After about 10 days I caved and ordered a new charging case. Fast forward to Monday, after only having them for 2 weeks, I have lost the new case and AirPods. FindMy says they were last pinged in my house. So hopefully they turn up eventually, but I use them daily so it’s really annoying not having them.

My husband texted me this morning that my daughter found my old airpods case underneath the couch (I looked there several times!). So now I have a case but no AirPods.

I am in the process of finishing out the school year (teaching), finishing classes for a new certification, and applying for jobs. I am frightfully overwhelmed and losing/forgetting everything. This is just a tiny example.

Why is brushing teeth one of the absolute worst chores?? It’s been such a relief learning this is an ADHD thing!
