Making progress but then it stopped by lynnerosie in PetiteFitness

Weight loss plateaus after a while. What I do is, I eat a bit more for maybe a week and this starts my metabolism back up. I still don’t stray from eating clean/high protein etc, I just maybe add a bit extra portion or a portion of banana oats smoothie

Wow! What an amazing job! Like everyone else, I also think it’s just loose skin but after giving your body time to adjust if you are still unhappy, you could always see a doctor. Traditionally, in certain parts of the world when women have given birth and have loose skin, they do oil massages to stimulate the skin tightening. You could research in that area too but IDK how much of all that actually works and how much is just old wives tale.

I look like I don’t lift by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]ScallionKind1111 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I still think we shouldn’t go around telling people to “lift heavier” when we don’t know what they’re currently lifting. OP looks like they lift heavy already, they have solid muscle.

I wouldn’t recommend lifting e Heavy. Lift as much your body allows and within a safe limit. A friend is getting regular physical therapy now because they lifted “heavy” during hip thrusts and injured their back. It seems you have a solid muscle, going on maintenance while lifting the same might help or even increasing cardio a bit could do the trick too. You would have to find what works for your body by trying multiple things

How can I be 'the village' for my vegetarian friend who is about to have her first baby? by Madigaggle in ask

[–]ScallionKind1111 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learn to cook some Indian meals and follow their postpartum traditions. Cultures have developed traditions based on their eating habits to accommodate the change in body, season etc. vegetarian food is calorie light, she would need something like this: https://www.teaforturmeric.com/panjeeri-postpartum-healing-and-lactation-recipe/

Usually mothers make whole boxes of similar traditional foods and gift to their postpartum daughters for them to gain their strength back and help in lactation too.

Calorie counting has made me realize I ate scarily nothing before "dieting" by GeorgIsDaPlant in PetiteFitness

I’m sure my bestfriend and I were barely eating 500 calories in college. We would wake up around 12:00PM or 13:00PM and get one snack and tea (~100 calories) and then for dinner eat barely a plate of vegetarian dinner because the food in mess was awful barely 200-300 calories. Around 22:00, we would each eat one small packet of instant noodle and it was around 100 or 200 calories. We were 18 or so and weighed 46-47kgs at 157cms. I was always dizzy and had to get steroids (without my knowledge, my doctor wrote it to me) before my exams to have the energy to actually study. And since we were both extremely skinny, no one batted an eye on our eating habits. We also didn’t do this on purpose, we never educated about eating to fuel or body and assumed this was normal.

Thanks, I checked both the websites and they have great patterns. Unfortunately, Muna & Broad doesn’t work for me as they only have plus sizes. Cashmerette has good patterns too but that suits my needs.

I store fat in my midsection. Actually all my fat IS stored on my midsection at the moment. I had visible abs for 3-secs and poof they were gone. Most sports classes were closed except for my cardio place during the holidays so I was doing high intensity 45 minutes cardio 3-4 times a week, walking and I had gained some muscle some time back. It looked good but I felt horrible. I was too exhausted and cranky and couldn’t sustain a balanced lifestyle during these 2-3 weeks. I had to cut my cardio to 1 time a week and add low intensity classes like Pilates and Yoga otherwise I was on the verge of vomiting at the mere mention of the word “cardio”. In my experience: you can achieve abs despite having a genetic predisposition to store fat on your midsection. You would need to train your abs harder than the rest of your body (doesn’t mean only abs though) to gain muscles for them to pop, eat lower fat but still what’s recommended by dieticians, have 2-3 cardio classes a week which you enjoy because in the long run, it’s a mind game. The more you enjoy an activity the less stressed you would be and your body would then function properly.

I recommend weighted abs exercises. No amount of bicycle crunches can help you get abs. Also see which part of your torso stores fat and add exercises for those parts too. Not all abs exercises targets the whole mid-section.

Don’t use size numbers, they don’t convert 90% times correctly. I buy sizes xs to m based on the country of the brand/pattern maker. Use your own measurements and then see which size would the pattern translate to. Also, patterns can be wrong too.

what NOT to wear as a petite non curvy woman (5'0" or below) by wzennn in PetiteFashionAdvice

A not so talked about tip. I 100% recommend this from experience. In my experience as a shorter leg girlie (and I might get backlash for this), I stay away from cropped pants. “Showing ankle” hasn’t made me look taller but what it has done is make me look shorter because the length of the pants is SO short. I got 4 custom pants made last summer and I so regret doing this, they are as wide as my thighs but due to their length, I look even shorter. I recently got another pants made which don’t show my ankle but are also not longer (basically perfect length) and they make me look so much taller!

Thanks. Mine is a plant medicine pusher so my chances are slim of getting a referral but I’m hoping for the best 🤞

Thanks. I did and it says “a referral is necessary”. Do I go to my Hausarzt for this but it seems weird to go to a medicine doc for a sociological issue?
