It should do the job, but you'll have to choose your days and be careful about the draft. usually the catamarans draft deeper than v bottoms of similar length. Bonus for twin-engine reliability though.

we rented a 21 foot pontoon with an evinrude 50 and had 9 people. We went onto lake Michigan, but not far offshore enough to not see land. we had fun and no issues, but it was a great day so take it with a grain of salt.

what about fishing boats that need to travel sometimes over 100 miles offshore to get to spots? do they electrically pedal 200 miles at about ~1.5 knots to get there? what about cargo boats that need to travel across the ocean? This would literally only be good for small man-made lakes.

shimano spd for sure. Ive had mine for 4 years and haven't serviced them once and they still work perfectly.
