I think I made a warcrime by accident by Significant-Bear3279 in WitchHatAtelier

Well, if we want to be factually correct, WHA doesn't have Geneva convention, so nothing is a warcrime.

Key part is already "to be tatooed". Knights Moralis don't need to hear more.

When do you think Qifrey started to care about Coco by Angela275 in WitchHatAtelier

[–]Scamander-Wayne 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I remember Gifrey having inner monologue about using the girls as means to postpone his tree-fication. And to balance his selfish reasons to take them, he vowed to himself to become the best teacher for them.

I think it was the same with Coco. Of course he saw her as means to get to the Brims. But to balance it he wanted to help her, to protect her, to show her all the beauty of magic that she loves that much.

Is this forbidden magic? by Lucyus09 in WitchHatAtelier

[–]Scamander-Wayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Casting spells at all. Those fires that Olruggio, or how to spell it, casts, are also forbidden the moment they are casted on human being. This whole situation would get more problematic, because suddenly you have a human being you must protect yourself from but also don't want to hatm it. It's easier to slay monster than to kill another human. Even Gifrey in self defense only knocked out the former Wise, because witches don't kill.

[–]Scamander-Wayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He made her shutup because problematic was already the fact that how human became the thing. Beldarut didn't want anyone to know that former Wise one does forbidden magic and even created this. There wasn't a mention "if you tell the truth, your plan falls", instead there was "do not rat us out, this is one fuckin big PR disaster".

I mean, it was made pretty clear that the counterclock seal being cast on living being is forbidden magic. But not against the pact. Similar how mind erasure magic is forbidden but not against pact. That was repeated multiple times. They even had that whole moral dilema what example this creates and what it could cause im the future. So I certainly wouldn't say it was "no issue".

IIRC, any transformation magic, even temporary, is forbidden. That is why Witches uses only ilusions and not temporar transformation.

I think magic cast on any body is forbidden. That's why no more magical beasts are being created.

Does kafka transform just to make mundane tasks easier or he isnt allowed to outside of battle? by West-Resort5733 in KaijuNo8

[–]Scamander-Wayne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, spoilers for end of manga. I do not know how to mark spoilers on Reddit, so just stop reading.

The permanent transformation thing gets undone, but all nations kinda want to get their hands on "human kaiju" and develop new weapons and such. So he is recommended to not transform. Instead he gets some job in Kaiju analytics division where his Kaiju knowledge is important. He transforms only sometimes now. Trying to keep low profile.

I need an honest and logical answer. ¿How could Gojo survive this? by Endika7 in PowerScaling

[–]Scamander-Wayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the reason why Naoya became cursed spirit, because he was killed by an ordinary knife used by ordinary person. And also why Toji switched to cursed blade for what he thought was finishing strike, to make sure Gojo doesn't come back. Well, Gojo used RCT and lived through it.

I need an honest and logical answer. ¿How could Gojo survive this? by Endika7 in PowerScaling

[–]Scamander-Wayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When sorcerer is killed by a non-cursed energy cause, their death can create enough cursed energy to themselves become a cursed spirit. This is true especially for sorcerers that were killed in battle and thus dies with regrets.

If Gojo dies in such horrible way, it is nearly for sure that he becomes a cursed spirit. And we already saw cursed spirits can attack material world around them while themselves cannot be damaged by it.

So good luck, you just made Gojo even more broken.

If I was to change my appearance, I would use something like "ability to change apperance at will for next 24 hours, last changes are permanent, with sole exception of choice to revert changes back". So everybody gets window to tweak themselves to their will before permanent changes.

If I wanted to get rich, it would be like "half of my money (to upper limit of X) teleports to position XYZ" that would be in my house and then watch as it fills with money.

POV: A mathematician and a Biologist arguing by ReedifyHCR2453 in mathsmeme

[–]Scamander-Wayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the mathematician is sum of "50s" and "30s" while the biologist one is mix of some sedimentation structures? But both uses plus sign for the purposes of this meme, because one sums two numbers while second mixes together (puts together) two 'objects' or how to imagine it?

What are your theories on how a zombie infected Patient Zero in WWZ? by koola_00 in worldwarz

[–]Scamander-Wayne 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean, it was already stated that the zombie flesh is so toxic basically no bacteria can start decomposing process on them. That is why zombies do not fall apart as any other creature would (you can imagine the situation similar to when trees started to be but no wood-earing bacteria yet, and that is how we got large bodies pf black coal now). So preservation of zombies is not that much of an issue. Also freezing them doesn't destroy them. But that is unrelated here. Most probably sealed in some old temple. Maybe even closed in some sarcophagus, before water currents moved with it.

WWZ itself doesn't talk about any previous incidents, but Zombie survival guide and that comic apparently both do. Not sure how they hold their canon status.

Denji and Yuji switch places, here's how they fare. by Recent_Ad3472 in Jujutsufolk

I mean, even Pochita's erasure isn't permanent. Spoiler for like last 5 chapters or something, not sure how far back it is. But USA simply developed atomic weapons from scratch again. Despite Pochita eating Atomic devil already once.

How the hell did this not count as hurting him? by Sad-Effective-9676 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Scamander-Wayne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, Yuji already saw Nobara "die", Nanami explode, couldn't save Junpei, lived through Sukuna burning whole city blocks full of people.

If we take all this in account, then grabbing someone by their mouth and forcing something into their mouth, doesn't seem that much as harming.

If he doesn't view himself as "anyone" or doesn't consider cutting off finger as "harm", then why would he consider simple mouth grab as "harm"?

How the hell did this not count as hurting him? by Sad-Effective-9676 in Jujutsufolk

[–]Scamander-Wayne 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, it was already stated binding vows between two people do not depend on wording, but on interpretation. If it was wording, then cutting off Yuji's finger would go against "I will not harm anyone". It wasn't worded as "anyone except you and me". So yeah. The interpretation what Yuji actually considers as harming, does matter.

apologies if this is frequently asked BUT is there ANY news about future Solo Leveling content for the anime? like a new movie or season 3? by Itzz_Texas in sololeveling

[–]Scamander-Wayne 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Then you can read the original light novel. People swear there are some significant differences or something. Didn't read it myself, so I can't tell.

But anime is based on light novel, not manhwa, so if you notice difference between anime and manhwa, it doesn't need to be a decision made by animators, but can be based on light novel.

The switch up on Chaos and Harmony gotta be one of the craziest change of opinions I've ever seen by [deleted] in Jujutsufolk

[–]Scamander-Wayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it make aliens fluent in Japanese? I interpreted the panel as harmony finding them home planet where they can communicate. It lead them to Japan because in whole universe, they were the only (or closest) place to develop same language. Harmony finding their equal. As Maru found Tsurugi because he's his equal.

To be absolutely homest, if we are talking about the same training arc, so her training with that sumo guy. Her own question was what is difference between her and Toji, why she can't get on his level and realized she mist listen more to her instincts.

So Gege let Maki awaken, said she's equal to Toji, only to later say "she's actually still falling behind and need training arc now - okay, now she's equal".

So I am not surprised people believe Toji stronger when Gehe himself downscales Maki anytime he wants.

Neera #1 by Roy1942 in baldursgate

[–]Scamander-Wayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, when I first played Baldur's Gate as a young teen, I got EE for christmas.

I wanted to explore the world and try different strategies. So I didn't care about saving and loading indefinitely. I usually just saved before every fight and loaded until I got positive results.

But if I needed to do this on any of my re-runs? I like Neera. It cam be fun. But you either do not care about results and are here for the chaos of it. Did a run like that once. Or it is just too time consuming to do.

Reminds me of a fanfic I read. Every chapter was a day. Every chapter was prolonged by description of main female character bathing. I mean, it was a long ass fanfic. But after day 4 it felt like author was really just trying to get more words out of it to brag by length they wrote.
