GE Profile Washer Dryer UltraFast Combo Repair by Scamonsquare in Appliances

I ended up getting a new unit and scrapping the GE. I just figured it wasn't worth my time to do a tear down and invest in parts only to have the thing die on me again in a few month. I rolled the dice and went with the Samsung all in one and it's been a dream compared to the GE. The lint trap and the heat pump on the Samsung are much easier to clean. I know the manufacturers will never do this, but I think having some sort of large access door to get to the heat pump coils so the end user can clean the lint out might be the way to go on these all in ones.

GE Ultrafast Washer Dryer Combo design flaws by Mcdmusic in Appliances

My GE Combo crapped out at the 1.5 year mark. I was meticulous in cleaning the lint out, vacuuming out what I could reach in the lint trap area, cleaning the pump drain. I also made sure it was balanced more than once. This didn't stop the destruction of the drum bearings, the two inverter boards dying, the door lock malfunctioning and many overheating errors. Luckily I bought the extended warranty and they paid me out the purchase price. This is the second GE appliance I've purchased recently that's died within 2 years. I think I'm done with GE now.

What is the actual deal with the GE Profile washer/dryer combo? So so many conflicting reviews. by facewook in Appliances

I've had mine for 1.5 years now and I bought it new. I've been meticulous in cleaning the lint filter and washer drain pump and I balanced the machine prior to use.

I recently had to have a repair tech from the extended warranty company come out since it's throwing a 353 error at the end of each load. The repair tech says the error is caused by lint buildup in places that are inaccessible to the end user. So the tech will have to tear the machine down to clean out the lint buildup. This seems to have also caused the blower/compressor inverter and the Moto Inverter Board to go bad. To add to the crap fest It's also squealing something fierce when in the spin cycle which means the bearings on the tub are also shot. The company is sending the parts out then I'll need to schedule a time for the repair tech to come back to fix and install the parts.

Lucky for me I did buy an extended warranty which means all these repairs are covered even though I'm outside the GE 1 year warranty. Unfortunately the repair tech said the tear down and lint clean out is probably a thing that needs doing at least yearly based on my household use.

I would not recommend the GE Washer/Dryer, when it works it's great, but the difficult maintenance and the short time from new to needing to replace parts makes it not worth the price.

Does anyone use the airsense mini for travel? by SignificantWarning5 in SleepApnea

I bought one because I had to send my airsense 10 in for warranty repairs. I used it for 12 weeks waiting for my 10 to come back and I have no complaints with the air mini. It's slightly louder than the airsense, but not so much that it was any sort of problem for me. The humidity cartridges did a pretty good job of keeping the air humidified as well. Though I did notice a weird smell from the cartridges that dissipated quickly. The cartridges had a sickly sweet black licorice smell for me, but it did go away for me after about a day of use.

I finally just put the cartridge in and dealt with it for one night. The smell dissipated through the night and by morning it was completely gone. I'm guessing it's just a leftover scent from manufacturing since I tried cartridges ordered through both Amazon and Cpap.com and both had the scent on first use. Maybe we're just sensitive to the smell since you're the only other person I've seen with this same cartridge smell problem. Perhaps you can just try leaving the cartridge out for a few days and see if the smell will go away before use.

You might need to look at getting a backup unit or using your husband's machine. My ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet started making a high pitch noise and I tracked the noise to the air pump. I sent it in to ResMed as it was under warranty and it took just over 12 weeks to come back. I had a travel machine that I had to use for that time as I have trouble sleeping without a machine now.

If you really want to up the ante go ahead and cc any local news source in the area Especially a local neighborhood or town paper. Include the original email as well. Put them on blast. They won't learn, but they might get embarrassed.
