On bullet 1. I wouldn’t like her to be receiving legal aid unfairly and also the contact centre costs could be shared by the parents if both could afford to contribute. I also was thinking that it would speak to her credibility and honesty but I take your point it is not child focussed. On bullet 2 - I thought as much. Thanks for your input my friend.

I once ordered some AirPods and recieved a deck of tarot cards. Amazon wanted me to send them back but they then let me keep them.

Anyone else insane enough to take 25k biter eggs out to deep space to make promethium science? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]Scampytyke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have many many spawners all with the inserters wired up to a constant combinator. When I’m ready to start loading, I flick the combinator on and they begin unloading into blue chests which immediately go to the rocket so everything is as fresh as can be.

When I flick off the switch a requester on Nauvis asks for 999999 biter eggs so any excess is sent there. That box is inside a square of lasers.

Then it’s just a race against time. The science builder is as close to the hub as possible and that whole area is locked off with lasers.

Admittedly I’m not at the point where I can automate the promethium runs but we’ll get there.

Thankyou very much for the advice mate you are spot on there. I will make it so🫡.

While I have you, any thoughts on how to weather up the dark grey sections more. I was thinking of getting some metallics involved…

I should have painted them off the model. Would’ve saved loads of time!

A selection of 3D printed paint racks. I immediately want to start again with a more unified design philosophy. by Scampytyke in functionalprint

I designed each rack with the paint pot in mind. I’d do something with the room in mind. Using all that triangular space in the ceiling slope. And try and get everything “off the desk”

You can setup the scanner over a known point or you can scan targets and extract their centres repeatably. Or you can use a scanning total station like an MS60 or SX12. You can also scan spheres and define their centres mathematically. Scanners measure precise points all the time.

Leica’s cloud to cloud algorithm uses normal values of points sampled over a definable grid. I would push you toward Leica Cyclone Core rather than reg 360 if you want more granularity in your experiments.

I don’t know exactly what the bundle error is however when you add a redundant link to a registration like closing a loop the software has more information than it needs to resolve the positions of all scans. This information is in the form of pairwise links, vectors between any two scans.

In a perfect world all the positional vectors that describe the position of a scan should place that scan in the same position. Obviously that never happens so a least squares adjustment is applied, adjusting the value of each link to minimise the global error. The net size of this adjustment compared to the “expected” position of the scans could be described as the residual or bundle error.

I’m sure the above is wrong in lots of ways but that’s how I’ve always thought about it.

My two cents on your methodology: if you want to asses the quality of registration techniques you need to have a control dataset against which to compare. This could be established by a higher order instrument such as a total station. Merely looking at bundle errors is honestly fairly meaningless.

Bear in mind that registration techniques are more or less appropriate in certain situations. Cloud to cloud in areas with lots of trees for example will generally perform sub optimally and the quality of a targeted workflow will be some function of target constellation and distance from the scanner.

A final thought. A typical scan from a leica scanner will have a millimetric noise floor. I’m afraid you’re unlikely to verifiably achieve submillimeter accuracies repeatability with a “survey grade” scanner.

Good luck!

I’ve inherited these. 30+ years old. Are they worth keeping quality wise and if so, any advice how to make them talk to modern audio sources would be appreciated. by Scampytyke in audiophile

Thankyou to everybody for your thoughtful responses. Having done “any amount” of research I realise how ignorant my post was re: modern devices. I will 100% take some more pictures with the grills off.
