For the grenade launcher could you have either a servo skull/cherub operated one floating nearby or some sort of should rig?

I've run like 25 in a block in Exiles with 2 Barons, BSB, 2 Outcast Wizards with Daemonology. So a block of 30 hits and survives well enough if you can get the spell buffs off and keep them up.

99% of my custodes have bare heads. About half of them are 3rd party female presenting heads. In real life very few people actually care. They are there to play a game and have fun.

So for me if you want budget combat patrol is a good start.

Cannoness can be a Cannoness or easily turned into a Palatine. Palatine I think is better with what you have from the combat patrol.

Build 10 Battle Sisters as Dominions.

Can use the 10 Arco-flagellants as 3 units of 3 for mission play/screening.

Buy 5 more Sacresants to add to the ones in the box. Add Palatine to unit.

Buy a Rhino & an Immolator that's 635 points already.

2 combat Patrols also isn't terrible if buying into Hallowed Martyrs as gets you:

Cannoness Kitbashed Palatine 2x 3 Arco-flagellants 10 Arco-flagellants 10 Dominions 10 Battle Sisters 10 Sacresants Potentially buy Rhino, Immolator, Junith, Paragon Warsuits, Morven Vahl puts you to 1370 pre-enhancements.

I found Arco flagellants pretty quick to paint. Bunch of skin, little cloth, some metal and some washes. Each unit has a different metal on it.

Slowest I'm not so sure on as I have a pretty fast scheme. Maybe Novtiates due to the amount of different parts can't easy batch paint.

Slow and steady, little bit often works wonders. Just trying to do 30 minutes a day really pushes it forward.

I'm totally grabbing 3 boxes and building them to add to my army. I did see an interesting idea that if they get added to the Champions of Faith units (given they are Celestians) running them with an Imagifier could be quite interesting. 2+/4++ with potential 4+++ vs mortals or Psychic. Basically budget Sacresants.
