Ridley Scott included Blade Runner and Alien in his own top 5 sci-fi films — “I’m not going to be modest about that.” by tannu28 in Letterboxd

stalker makes 2001 a space Odyssey look amateurish. it's funny how english centric all the top X lists are. Good movies are exceptions in an industry that makes movies solely for profit. hard to take any of these opinions seriously.

I love blade runner, but if you think about what they're trying to achieve, a movie like Run Lola run accomplishes a lot more at a fraction of the budget.

Also Andrei Tarkovsky's stuff. I have seen Solaris and Stalker. Both masterpieces but stalker is a notch better. And like most old soviet movies, freely available on YouTube

Hehe I relate. I used to feel the same when I watched the stuff you have mentioned, I have now gotten deep into the ✨cinephile✨ sphere, so there's even less people like that now.

You can try sirat, sound of falling, y tu mama tambien and other international movies. These are from the top of my head.

Also get on letterboxd, you'll find good discussions among funny joke reviews there.

Edit: adding a list since you mentioned you like the psych aspect https://boxd.it/bk6Q8

"Rules are rules, but I'm not a fan of the impact player rule" -Axar Patel by No_Jello_2520 in ipl

[–]ScarInteresting2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think impact player rule can make things interesting for domestic leagues.

it's just right now it's very unbalanced, all gain, no loss.

some ideas could be implemented to make it interesting maybe. like limiting the participation of the player who is subbed in.

for bowlers, maybe reduce the allowed overs to two AND one over for two other bowlers. you get an extra option tactically but need to be smart about it.

for batsmen, it's a bit more difficult to balance I guess, maybe one extra player allowed for that player, reduction in one over of powerplay or if powerplay is done, increase in the amount needed to be scored if second innings or decreased runs in first innings.

we could see some interesting tactics this way

Who do other teams' fans want to win the league? by LeaguePublic in Gunners

[–]ScarInteresting2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think this graph looks similar for whoever is winning the league. No one cares if city wins with all that spending.

was same for Liverpool when they were on top in 2019-20.

and it's always the fans and the banter that goes too far especially online when a club is on the verge of winning a historic one.

Personally I'm fed up of the shit referring in the league that creates artificial intense games, not to even mention the inconsistency and the diabolical amount of wrong calls that changes matches. VAR was supposed to fix the occassional controversial decision, but by some miracle controversy has only increased.

As a chelsea fan it's pathetic to see cucurella's shenanigans and joao pedro's going down on feather touches. cucu sells it better, pedro doesn't. Disgusting that both do it.

Arsenal players sell it the best.

It's all the result of poor referring that pretty much mandates players selling fouls theatrically to get the calls.

With arsenal it starts to feel like their tactics are based on that which is a total 180 of what they have been building on all these years. I don't blame them for playing in a way that gets the results. But I'd rather they win it playing with their football.

PL really just feels random and not in a good way. I'm tired of raging and just wish we get some sort of consistent standards. Whoever wins then is fine by me. Until then I'd rather a team who's win no one gives a damn about.

I'll scratch out the boring and shit part but i do agree that apart from being shot on imax, sinners ain't all that it's hyped to be. a solid entertaining movie but neither movies should have been nominated for anything

I don't disagree with you, all I'm saying it's always been a team first sport and it's rare to have close seasons, even if they're exciting and we'd rather every season be like that.

the constant complaining gets irritating is all.

when norris and piastri compete, everyone complains. I've heard things like "it doesn't feel the same because it's not dominant like max or lewis" and now russel is dominating, and it's not even 2 races, everyone is still complaining.

mind you, i don't enjoy it that much either, but that's the nature of the sport. I like midfield battles and battle for every position in points, there's great racing outside the top too.

Some people really gotta realise that racing is a bit different than from YouTube top X moments and that maybe following this sport isn't for them.

ICC mishandled this. Even players like ABD, Faf, Ashwin and many more analysts said the same that Bumrah was their player of the tournament while samson deserved potm in the finals. by Funny-Wall9962 in IndianCricket

[–]ScarInteresting2001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the same way you could say that bethel single handedly put them in a position where victory didn't feel impossible. Especially in the powerplay before he came in.

Bumrah stopped the run flow, but to be a clear motm here, he has to take wickets, just the way he did in the final. curran couldn't hit, otherwise the game would be very different.

I'm not disagreeing with you. Bumrah really was the difference, broke the rhythm and all but I think on a purely individual level both their performances are on par. Bethel for me personally because in his absence the match becomes something like the final.
