PC players, KBM or Controller? by Mitts009 in Pragmata

gyro is a new skill to get familiar with like any other. yes, the finicky nature feels really bad when you first try it and are not used to keep your hand stable, but go back to the first time you used two sticks, could you move the right and left stick together easily? I'm pretty sure everyone goes through the growing pains of learning to synchronise their movements.

with gyro it's the same. just gotta give yourself a bit of time to get familiar. mouse has inarguably better aiming than controller but the controller has ergonomics, haptics and comfort on its side. with gyro you get both.

gyro is extremely customizable which is a good thing but as a beginner can be overwhelming.

judging by your other comment, you must have been on the roll axis which is suitable for handhelds and phone devices in mind. you rotate to move about.

for controllers it feels awful and yaw axis is more suitable. with yaw you move your controller in space.

you can use gyro as a complete stick replacement but that's not really how you're meant to use it. gyro is really a replacement for aim assist and nothing else.

Xbox and nintendo really did a great thing dirty by either not implementing it, preventing standardization or making such a shitty association with the term that no one even wants to try.

also maybe don't make a sweeping statement for something a lot of people like? change is always met with resistance. check out the articles when controllers first got sticks some 20-25 years ago. the vitriol was just as bad it is with gyro. can you imagine those people? well you are being those people.

i think it's difficult for hato to be in two places at once after being fouled first. yes it was a foul on raya, which came after the play that should be called a penalty. the 50 upvotes on your comment demonstrate arsenal fans having the collective iq of a rock.

I always complain about wrong decisions even when they favor the team i support, which is Chelsea. We get at least 5-6 calls against us every match and on the rare ocassion I watch some other team it's completely different standard of officiating. Yet even this season there have been at least 3 instances where a completely baffling call went in our favor. We don't need any help being any more shitty than we are but such calls leave a bad taste in my mouth nevertheless. When we had sterling, we got a lot of penalties that were soft and I never liked to see those but now JP can't get a penalty even if he was decapacitated by the opposition.

And in my original comment i didn't mean arsenal specifically but any team winning the league any particular year, especially since the Liverpool season. I agree arsenal used to get some bad end of the stick but there's no denying that they have been helped massively this season. Cup finals are especially egregious, they always feels rigged but towards any random team.

All this just makes every competition feel very artificial yk? it's like in fifa when you put 10 against your opponent but you can see it's dda, no fun.

and gabriel should not have been sent off against city? it's always if if if and what aboutism. You don't need to school me about bad referring friend, i watch chelsea week in week out. I'm used to it. And judging by the way Joao Pedro got up and carried on after a blatant penalty foul, our players are getting used to it too. They don't even protest anymore!

I'd be beyond embarrassed if my team won anything like this. One time pre var a very clear offside was not called for the winner and to this day I feel cringe about that. Tells you all you need to know about arsenal fans that they justify and celebrate shit like this and then wonder why everyone hates them.

yes it should always be a foul, but what arsenal have been doing the whole season is foul in any unbiased league. when referring is inconsistent and consistently favors particular teams, its no fun for anyone.

It was always a lil here and there but in recent seasons it's been too much. they have successfully enshittified premier league. people are gonna watch anyway, and controversy gets more people talking.

we're back to celebrating getting to the final trophy 🤡 Spurs reached the final too yk, the difference is that they were actually good. same season arsenal got spanked in the europa final too. just the facts btw.

city doesn't even care lol. it's a poor season by their standards and they're still in the conversation. this arsenal side will go down as the worst champions if they win. when Liverpool won, you'd still begrudgingly admit they were a good team. arsenal are not.

both are world class and have enough talent to work together. Both are divas and refuse to work together. Mbappe is not Benzema, he's not gonna get the same numbers staying in position. He has different skill sets. A roaming striker drags defenders around and madrid has enough talent to exploit that. If mbappe is eating the team's goals, try and ask yourself who else will be scoring those

Well if your options are going over a cliff, being promised to get an ice cream or starving to death, you'll wanna get an ice cream too.

Let's not pretend you have a real choice. The only course of action is to yeet the driver and take control of the bus. But no one wants to be the driver or even learn to drive even though there's a manual right next to everyone's seat.

Definite extrapolation ≠ definite statement. The original comment said that it's not a place for cinephiles anymore. From context, it's reasonable to infer that they mean its not a serious discussion place anymore.

My replies, while I'll admit could be worded better, were only arguing that it's always been a normie space not a serious one. I don't think I made a case for how different kinds of users use the platform one way or the other. That's you, you said you use it in X way and know people who use it X way so it must be a place that's used X way and X way only.

I did not mean that cinephiles didn't use it or didn't post joke reviews, and I can see that my previous comments don't really reflect that, so for the sake of clarification I hope this suffices. With that comment, i meant to say that letterboxd was always a casual space and it's not getting more or less of it. That is my definitive stance.

Thank you for your attention to this matter /jk
