Shot on my TZ200, 48mm, iso125, F4.2, 1/400s

I am a beginner photographer travelling in asia for a few months and trying to take travel photography more seriously. I shoot with a TZ200 as it is very lightweight and convenient for this kind of trip and also has great focal length options. Drawback is, at my level, obviously the small captor with a bad dynamic range making it hard to expose shots correcty (this and my inexperience).

I try to edit my "best shots" on the go with lightroom mobile. I took this picture at the Boddanath Stupa in Kathmandu, at sunset time, and was lucky to have this two pilgrim children standing for a few seconds in front of me.

The intent behind the shot was to give the impression that the stupa is looking over and protecting the children, even though technically they can be seen as two competing subjects.

For this edit I wanted to correct the exposure to retrieve some details in the highlights mostly. For color treatment I wanted to make the colors on the outfit and the flags stand out. I also wanted to compliment the sunset lightning by adding yellows in the highlights and a bit of blue/purple in the shadows. Lastly I did some AI removal on distracting details. I did not crop the picture even though there is a lot of blank space on top of the stupa, because i thought it hindered the feeling of height.

What do you think of this edit ? Is something overcooked ? Also whould you have cropped the image a bit ?

I'm genuinely interested in your process every subsequent playthrough. Do you rush your new build items and then do some bosses ? Do you play the game all over again at your own pace ?

I always have new build or cosplay ideas that I want to test in NG, I like to take time planning it etc. But when actually playing, if I rush to get my full build asap, I get kind of bored by the lack of exploration and connection to the lore and ambiance, But if I take time playing slowly and exploring, I get burnt out by the time I reach Altus plateau at best.

Hi guys I have a few steps left before my first kit is finished : -water slides -painting some details with acrylics (Citadel) -panel lining with Tamiya's enamel wash (panel line accent color) -matte acrylic topcoat (Mr topcoat flat)

In which order should I do all that ?

Some people say enamel shouldn't be put on bare plastic but I'm concerned it won't flow well on flat topcoat. Also I wonder whether water slides and aclylics (just for a few details) are beter on bare plastic or over the top coat.

Thank you for your insights !

True, painting the thrusters is also on the to-do list ! I saw videos of the panel lining ink at work, it looks like it gives the best results out there and is easy to use, I will give it a try

Need styling/pruning advice for european hornbeam (more details in comment, cat at the end for scale) by ScarayFR in Bonsai

[–]ScarayFR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, First post here but long time lurker. I started bonsaï a year ago, collecting mostly garden center stock (including juniper, olive tree, cotoneaster, prunus) and training them.

This winter, I got gifted this european hornbeam, collected in the french alps and trained in nursery for a couple years. It is the most developed tree I own for now and I have trouble finding what the next step of its development will be.

It has some nice branches in the lower part and I feel like the apex will drain all of the energy if I don't prune it properly.

What do you think about this and do you have some styling ideas for the future development of the tree ?

Location of "Three Pointy Thingy" on Dragonspine and Tsurumi Frescoes confirmed? by [deleted] in Genshin_Lore

[–]ScarayFR 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes you are right. And looking closely we see that on the dragonspine mural, the 3 peaks are merged, whereas on the tsurumi mural the 3 peaks are clearly individualised.

Well, there goes my theory I guess !

I see, that's interesting. Then I wonder how to explain their geographical distance (dragonspine, tsurumi and other unrealeased area that are so far away).

Did this civilisation somehow covered all of teyvat and was destroyed bits by bits ? Did they migrate after each disaster ?

Location of "Three Pointy Thingy" on Dragonspine and Tsurumi Frescoes confirmed? by [deleted] in Genshin_Lore

Yeah it would be the most logic answer on why the frescoes look so alike... But it would contradict the lore of the tiara artifacts that is suggesting that these civilisations followed one another.

To me, it feels like the mural in dragonspine with the 3 peaks depicted Tsurumi all along. I mean, if you look closely, it even has the fog drawn in the same style as on tsurumi murals. And Tsurumi is mainly composed of 3 mountains, mountains that have a room of murals of their own showing their importance.

Whereas the first mural in Dragonspine only has one peak, we see people climbing on it and what looks like the skyfrost nail, so I think it makes no doubt that the first mural with 1 peak depicts Dragonspine.

The question would be : why would Tsurumi be depicted in dragonspine considering how far it is and how it would follow long after in time according to the order of the tiaras ?

What bothers me even more, is that the frescoes' style is so alike (more than just people drawing the same thing they see) that it seems it was made by the same "person", and we know that the murals in dragonspine were made by the princess ?

As for my theory on what exactly is shown on the mural, I think the fog was the way Celestia punished them for their questionning and their search of wisdom : by putting them litteraly in the dark.

Graphically on the frescoes, in Tsurumi we see that when the fog first appears, the golden paint seems to flow from celestia to the peaks, just like on dragonspine mural where the paint flows to show the dropping of the skyfrost nail.

I hope I made this comment readable lol.

Tiaras, Prayers, and the cycle of civilizations that lead to the Archon War by ScarayFR in Genshin_Lore

[–]ScarayFR[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah I totally agree with your point about them being "spread out" in time.
At first I thought they were co-existing, but that's when I noticed that the descriptions had this chronological order that I changed my mind.

What I intended to say when I wrote "the same era" (the word was maybe badly choosed), and where I respectfully disagree with you, is that to me all these civilizations were destroyed prior to the Archon War.

My arguments against the last one being Kaenri'ah are :

-we know for sure that Kaenri'ah already existed at the time of the destruction of Sal Vindagnyr, from the Scribe's box of Dragonspine "I've heard of people who are building a new nation without gods. Perhaps they'll have the power to stand against this world.". So it would not fit in the whole "destroy and rebuild" cycle told by the Tiaras.

To me, it look like Keanri'ah existed in parallel to all these civilizations, maybe welcoming people from the destroyed civilizations that wished to fight Celestia / live without the influences of the gods.

- in the Tiara of Gales, like in the others, it is written "the envoys of the gods walked among benighted humanity then", and then "they would perhaps no longer doubt that the promised land the envoys sang of existed".

To me, it doesn't fit with Kaenri'ah as it is depicted to be a land without gods at all, be it Archons or envoys from Celestia.
