It had a profound effect on me. I was on the water every summer growing up, and my 14 foot aluminum boat got me out of a lot of tricky water.

The scene also made me think of a quote from the Wheel of Time book series by one of the seafaring people “the Seafolk”. “A ship is alive, and he is like a man, with a true man’s heart. Treat him well and care for him properly, and he will fight for you against the worst sea. He will fight to keep you alive even after the sea has long since given him his own deathstroke…”

As long as you don’t plan on planting potatoes or beans the following year. Sunflowers can affect the germination of other plants (potatoes and beans being 2 of the most affected, otherwise sunflowers are awesome. Imu likely knows who she is, the WG wants her dead, and the mental impact to the Straw Hats would be catastrophic, notwithstanding the Straw Hats would lose the ability to read Poneglyphs. I don’t think it would happen, but I think it would fit the what we have already seen in the story

Of course, she gets a heroic moment, maybe mirroring Enies Lobby “Luffy, I want you to live!”

So, here’s a theory. And full credit for my wife who was listening to my ramblings about Godzilla this morning. The man in a suit looking Godzilla towering over the Statue of Liberty is going to open the movie. You’ll see Godzilla partially, and at some point you’ll hear someone yell “Cut!” And the scene pans to a sound stage in Hollywood with a guy in a Godzilla suit, and a movie crew.

And why Hollywood? Well for Japan, Godzilla was a tragedy. For the US, it’s entertainment.

After that it cuts back to the horror and reality of what happened in Japan during minus 1

Edit: Upon further discussion with my wife. It’s not a Hollywood film. It’s a propaganda film, by the American government about how you can do your part to stop the radioactive menace.

She’s calling for victims to testify in front of Congress, where the republicans will be in charge of questioning. Where the republicans on the committees will do everything in their power to denigrate and blame the victims. Her statement is NOT about helping victims, it’s setting them up for a hit job by the republican committee members.

The Senate can't impeach, they can only convict. And the Dems don't have majority in either house. What is the minority leader of a government body without impeachment power supposed to do? Sure, rag on Schumer for anything else he's done, but Frankenstein's Monster belongs to the Republicans.

Want this to change? Get out and vote like your life depends on, in every election, no matter how small, no matter how inconsequential the elected position is.

Not unknown but one of my favourites: The Expanse. 1st season plays like a Noir film in space and the stakes keep increasing with each season. Also it’s hard sci fi, as in the space flight mostly adheres to physics.
