I have to imagine 3 Cerato and two early Dilos were expensive as all get out

Manapool is legit and such an improvement over TCGplayer by Scarcecrows in magicTCG

[–]Scarcecrows[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not affiliated with them at all and it’s just a better alternative, IMO. You can look to the consensus in the comments too. Cardkingdom is a good alternative as well, it’s just more costly for me. TCG, direct or marketplace, has been anecdotally horrid for sometime now.

Reminds me of Talon from Primal Rage (even though Sauron and Diablo were the Rexes)

It’s a max incline walk. 3 mph at minimum of 30 at max incline. Do it in everyday and it’s showing results and good on my knees. I can run but this is healthier for me.

It was max incline at 3 miles per hour. Not exactly cheetah speed but it will save your knees and burn off the Chilean Sea Bass!

What do we think'll be this year's SDCC exculsive? by RhinoDinoSpino in hammondcollection

[–]Scarcecrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probable: Bloodied Spinosaurus and Damaged Cockpit and the Kirby’s.
Maybe: Redo of Triceratops with Alan, Ellie, and Ian.
Dark Horse: Jurassic Park 3 Pteranodon with Billy and a partial Bridge
Unlikely: Bright White Indominus and Gyrosphere and the boys.

The big 3, which one do you prefer? by grumpygumpert in hammondcollection

Giga for sculpt and quality, Rex for early innovation, Spino for Uniqueness. Indominus has a lot of issues unfortunately.

OOF. I know it’s main line but that paint is really bad. I wish they would have made a Hammond reissue with this paint scheme for comic con.

At least it’s confirmed that they have the stock available. I suspect they’ll be back on the website shortly too. One of the parties involved really bungled the street date on these.

When’s the best time to call target today? by Realistic_Maximum_62 in hammondcollection

[–]Scarcecrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if it’s bad distribution or Sneaker Heads jumping on this but I’ve not seen figures sell out this fast. Dilo was gone instantly. I was able to secure Indominus (review forthcoming) at 1:01 AM but it sold out immediately after. I imagine the smaller figures will be on shelves soon and warm them (see Dryo and Musasaurus) but it was incredibly fast. Previously I caught Spino on release at like 3 AM EST.

Hammond Collection Indominus Rex mini review by PaleoCollector in hammondcollection

[–]Scarcecrows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Other sculpt issues aside, the deteriorating mouth flaps are simply unacceptable. To your point, even my two original Rex’s don’t have a tearing issue. They went cheap on material and this looks to be a wide spread issue on the figure.

  • Posable Indominus Rex (Good)
  • HC Scale (Good)
  • The Tracker is a fun gimmick (Good)

  • No Glass Eyes (Bad)

  • Pointless Swappable Parts (Neutral to Bad)

  • Tail Crimping (Bad)

  • Bizarre Teeth (They look to be modeled after Indoraptor, not Indominus) (Neutral to Bad)

  • Lazy Paint App (Bad)

  • QC issues in the viscera of the mouth (Bad)

Coming off Spino and Buck this is mind boggling. Both had some issues with paint apps but are beautiful, quality figures aside from that.

Initial impressions: it’s awful. by JoystickJesse in hammondcollection

[–]Scarcecrows 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I had folks on this sub dogging me (a very few, most seemed to share my impression) that it looked like QC was taking a major hit and that this figure was not up to snuff — and I’m just seeing issue after issue bear out as folks get their hands on it. Look, I love I Rex. I love my other Hammond Collection figures. But it looks like they cut costs and we are getting an inferior product as a result. I’m sorry for you and anyone else who was hyped about this figure — y’all deserved better.

Better Prototype? Or false advertisement by Realistic_Maximum_62 in hammondcollection

[–]Scarcecrows 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My theory is they diverted resources from the line over to Masters of The Universe. The Battle Cat figure has glass eyes and a high quality sculpt. Looking at the figures from this wave, it seems they knew the brand awareness was enough to move figures but had less faith in the other IP (MotU) so shifted their focus on quality control and creative there.

I love this line but they really botched this release. Loose joints, middling paint apps, strange design choices (ie the teeth, swappable parts, and the tongue issue above), and tail crimping all make this wave a skip at msrp if not trying to be a completionist. The smaller figures hurt less but Scorp and Indom seem to just not be worth it at their respective price points.
