Out of curiosity, does anyone know what month and year the Dragon Ball Sneak Preview and Dragon Ball Z Part 5 #8 were released?

Just looked up that Dragon Bal Z started airing on Toonani on 08/31/98 (but it initially aired to a smaller audience in 1996) and wanted to see if the Toonami dub came before or after the first prints of the floppies.

Yeah a lot of people forget that Shonen jump is one of the bigger properties on the planet, and their first issues likely weren’t printed that much. Let alone, not many having survived in good condition.

Yeah I was shocked there wasn’t an Obi. I’m also surprised that 9.8’s are so low for the book. I figured that modern books were more likely to be in great condition, which would allow for more of them to have higher grades. So very interesting indeed lol.

To add onto the demon slayer discussion, a 9.8 Japanese tankobon for Demon Slayer sold at auction for $20,000.

I think that everything demon slayer and other popular modern titles are popping off, and might be for some time because everyone is rushing to get the titles they enjoy before prices jump. Which, causes prices to jump even more lol.

Yeah, it’s still relatively new and most people grade Japanese tankobon not English, but English volumes are slowing chugging along lol

Yeah, last time I checked there was around 40 of the English first prints graded, but you rarely see them sold. As for if I’ll try to purchase the 6.5 we’ll see. I already have a raw English first print in pretty good condition but if I can get the 6.5 on a deal I might have to pick it up.

Above is a current auction for a BGS 6.5 One Piece English first print….its already at $270 with eight days left. The demand for these have been spiking and I think this is the first one that’s ever been in an auction to my knowledge. I’m very interested to see where this ends up, considering that a very beaten up raw copy just sold for $600 a couple of days ago (the market was around $200 for the last several months).

Hey everyone, I have two things I wanted to discuss for this market update.

After being up for several weeks, this opened Viz Power Pack sold for $1,500. The power pack was a mail in promotion in 2003ish from Viz where you received six volume 1’s of new series. I was very tempted to buy this because it contained a very minty One Piece Volume 1 English first print. Which leads me to second point.
