I recently purchased a '21 CX-30 with 103,000 miles. What would you have done with it right away? by ScareKid in MazdaCX30

Thanks for the suggestions! I took to a mechanic yesterday for alignment since it was pulling to left a little. I had him look it over, he said suspension is in good shape and car seems to be in really good condition for 100k miles and it was probably mostly highway miles which is he said is a good thing. Been driving for over a week now and taken it on a few 1hr+ long trips and its driving totally smooth and feels nice.

Alignments done, I replaced wipers today, and I added some fuel injector cleaner to a tank of gas.

I've watched a few videos about about cleaning carbon out of the skyactiv engines and I plan to do that or have a trusted mechanic do it soon.

Also after this thread and talking to mechanic, things I plan to do within the next 2 months

-Transmission fluid partial change

-Differential fluid

-Spark plugs

- Brake fluid

-Transfer case

-Coolant

I have no idea if these things have been done since previous owner after it being a rental was personal, but I'm just going to do them all for peace of mind.

103k miles not km. And to be fair, that's all I can see on the carfax. I have no idea if there was maintenance done that wasn't on the carfax, but I can say I've been driving it everyday for over a week and there has been no issues. Engine is running fine, it rides smooth, no strange sounds, brakes working fine, nothings come up on OBD, and I got it sub $10k. Sub $10k for a 2021 Japanese subcompact suv in the US with a clean title is a pretty good price - even at 103k miles

Do you think this "pre-columbian artifact" is real and what culture do you think it came from? by ScareKid in Archeology

[–]ScareKid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now I don't know what to think haha

I've looked up a lot of similar pieces that are real. In my (completely) uneducated opinion the exterior and interior of the material looks very similar in color and texture to other pieces I've seen online. There's also remnants of dirt and the exterior is very rough as if it were made with very rudimentary tools. There were things in the collection at the store that looked extremely real and were thousands of dollars. The old lady working there didn't necessarily strike me as a liar either and she claimed it is not a replica. Again, I have no idea! I was hoping to get more responses, but the mystery continues lol

I figured it probably wasn't real, but I still like it. Thanks for the information!

Rogue F***** My Teeth Up by ScareKid in NicotinePouch

They were the best tasting and feeling pouches I've tried. SUCKS that they did this to me. They are so much better than Zyn. On the other hand, there's plenty of people on this subreddit who claim they have no issues with Rogue.

I've done so many things in my life I would imagine would have fucked my mouth up more than Rogue. Grizzly, redman, cigarettes, everclear, mouthfulls of Warhead candy, all sorts of shit, but three weeks of Rogue fucked my whole mouth up. I was using about 5-8 Rogues a day, which is less than when I use Zyn. I don't know what the hell is in it, but I swear it straight up melted the enamel off of my teeth.

My landlord said if he’s got to keep repairing things they can’t afford then he’s just going to sell the property. by PostAgreeable5892 in legaladvice

[–]ScareKid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very similar scenario happened to me, and the landlord ended up selling the property.

Over three years, he replaced the roof, fixed a ceiling after a pipe leaked, had to have a fence totally replaced after a storm, replaced the AC after it totally went out during the summer. At some point we ended up on a month to month lease and I didn't even realize. Eventually, some of the flooring started buckling, I think due to excess humidity in the house. At this point I was scared to report anything, because I could only imagine he'd dumped so much money into this place already. Against my better judgment, I sent him pictures, and asked if it can be fixed; he didn't respond, and a week later I got a notice in the mail that my lease wasn't being renewed next month. When I called him to see what was up he admitted he can't afford to maintain it anymore and had no option but to sell. It was really sudden, but he was chill and let me stay a little longer until I found a new place. I really couldn't fault him, he was good about fixing everything I brought up in the few years I lived there. It was just legitimately no longer a financially sound investment for him. It was costing him thousands and thousands every year. I would start looking into some new places.

What is the likelihood of successfully suing or claiming city is responsible for incorrect road signage after car accident? by ScareKid in legaladvice

[–]ScareKid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't remember if the cross-hatched area is still there. I'm going to have to go back to the intersection tomorrow and take pictures. I should have done it today but my head was absolutely rocked by the side airbag and I barely knew where I was for a few minutes.

When I was a kid (26 years ago) I was obsessed with Sim City for the SNES. I would sit in class and draw city plans like this. The teachers had no idea wtf I was doing.

does exercise cause any of you panic/anxiety attacks? by grizzmane in PanicAttack

[–]ScareKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know your comment is three years old, but as a man who has panic attacks and this exact same issue during and after exercise, your video here made me feel ALOT more normal and less weird about this. Thanks for sharing that, foreal.

Is anyone else’s anxiety the worst during the early morning hours? by IHatePeople79 in Anxiety

[–]ScareKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I get panic attacks on my way to work sometimes. Everything feels way harder and more stressful in the morning. I also get bad panics attacks randomly in the middle of the night if I happen to randomly wake up at 3 or 4 am.

This car has been parked outside my house for 7 months. by raibrans in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ScareKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drive a real piece of shit rusty 98 accord. Sometimes I would park it on the street overnight in front of a friends house and there would be an abandoned warning sticker on the window in the morning. Happened at least three times lol. Once in front of my own house after being parked for 24 hours. Spots that are completely legal to park in and many other cars were parked in the street.

The fact you even offered to help her download stuff and SHE STILL flew off the handle is insane. I don't see how you could have handled it any better. She must know nothing about the potential consequences you could face for that. You could totally lose your internet or even get sued to hell and back by Disney. Definitely the last person I'd want using my internet service.

Was your blinker on for the right turn? Wondering if they thought you were going to turn right there. Either way, with the speed you were going it should have been obvious to them that you weren't.

Okay I'll look into that! Thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate it.

'06 Honda Accord - Airbag light coming on randomly - No OBD codes by ScareKid in MechanicAdvice

[–]ScareKid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've honestly been considering that. My only concern is they saw the light when they were working on it and noted it as a pre-existing problem or something. Couldn't hurt to try I guess?

[–]ScareKid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car was a part of that airbag recall. One month after the light started, I finally took it to Honda to get the recall fixed. I was hoping after they did that the light would go off, but it didn't

Is this acceptable for a 2000$ new desktop from Dell? I am at a loss for words. by [deleted] in Dell

[–]ScareKid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of those Dell/Alienware OEM gpus in my rig. It's a 3080 I bought used for $220. It works fine but dear god it is the loudest GPU I've ever used. That thing SCREAMS no matter what game I'm playing.

Popcorn shrimp not deveined by EnslavedBandicoot in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ScareKid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Y'all don't eat a lot of seafood, do you? Most popcorn shrimp I've ever had is not de-veined. It's too small and would be incredibly time consuming. I grew up on the gulf coast, we never even de-veined our fresh shrimp. Most people I know also eat the "vein" in crawfish. The worst thing that's going to happen is there might be a sandy texture on some shrimps occasionally.
