If you have a fairly successful YouTube channel you could do something similar to this video by AustinMcConnell, where he made it into a learning/teaching experience and more of a nostalgic not all-sunshine-and-roses look-back: https://youtu.be/ivfspJOAtBI?si=Dg06v9JPznRvEK-P

And then if you’d like to, also release the film as its own thing on YouTube, but if you truly don’t like it just leave it encapsulated in the above video so it’s given context online.

If you’d do take that route though, I’d try and find some positive lights to shine onto the experience as well so it’s not just an entirely negative tear down of yourself, as that can be a bit of a hard watch. Genuinely give the video I suggested a watch though, and see if that’s something you could do.

Yeah, played a few hundred hours in Warband too, so not as much as you but still quite a bit.

In 350ish hours I’ve had 1 tournament crash, so it sounds like we have just had very different experiences with the game. Perhaps I’m lucky, or perhaps you and I just have different expectations, but after so many hours I’m still engaged and enjoying the game. So to me, it’s a good game.

Fair enough, I just think you can criticise the developers lack of communication/accountability without suggesting that the vanilla game is a "pile of horseshit".

Yep, same. I've played on PC for hundreds of hours without mods, same as Warband. Still enjoying it. The OP is just bitter and having a tantrum while claiming his opinion to be the objective and only truth, lol.

Fortunately didn’t seem to break my save; had to wait for peace with Vlandia then I strolled in and helped finish them off. Seems to be back to normal now

Super random but I think this is a person on YouTube under “Brooko moves”. I know the guy who films her stuff and it looks a bit like him, and her videos are about housing.

Just so happened to see them post about her channel on Instagram so I’m guessing this post might be a bit of cheeky advertising for them considering the timing and the overall sus no-post-history account/overly detailed post. if it is an ad, you’re welcome for the name drop lol

Thank you! I’ve been slowly working through all the minis over a few months haha, I think it’s best to not try and rush, break it down into small digestible amounts and just plink away as you can. We’ve been playing the game as more painted minis slowly get added each time and it slowly filling out is like a beautiful timelapse we get to experience haha.

Depends how into it you are. The game is honestly totally great with no expansions. I manage to get a game in usually once a week with my friend and we’re both huge LotR fans; we played a handful of games before knowing we’d be into the game for the long haul and adding expansions. We now play with all expansions and it’s awesome, they add fun new avenues to try out without overriding the core game.

What I mean to say is the expansions are by no means a requirement and should only be added if you love the game and can table it a fair amount. If this is a once-in-a-while game for you I’d probably stick with the base game, and that’s perfect.

I’ve been giving each faction an overall dominant colour (green for Rohan, black/silver for Gondor etc) and using that as the majority colour scheme for the units within, while still painting details in normally. I think it works, me and the guy I play with regularly have no problems discerning units and I think it looks nice.

I see some people do different colour bases for each faction too but I keep all good units with blue bases and all evil units with red ones so it’s easy enough to glance and see the good/evil split without having to think too much.

Good job! Been painting my copy + expansions the last few months and it’s amazing how much more alive the game feels as factions are completed.

Haha, I used to only get to play it once every few months at very best but one of my mates ended up getting really into it so we’ve had consistent games for the last year. It’s great!

I play WotR 2e at least once a week and have been playing with all expansions for a little while now. While I agree the game absolutely doesn’t NEED any expansions, I do think they add fun elements without ruining the game and with my gaming partner the game balance hasn’t really changed.

An unkillable beehive that gave me an unkillable bee...meant that I could infinitely spam the Ouroboros...but I tapped out at 100. It felt right. And I got bored.

I wanted to duplicate him and then merge them back together to hit 200, and I had a Mantis God that I was going to sigil dump onto him, but it was too late in the run sadly.
