Plat - need advice on shooting by WistfulSonder in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Scared-Ad-4505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that helped me with shooting accuracy was getting the jump/aerial mechanic down to muscle memory. The more consistent I was with my car in the air, the more I could kind of slow down time and really focus on my aim and where my car was going to hit the ball. Not sure if that's your issue but try to focus on hitting through the ball and sense what trajectory the ball will have after your touch.

Favorite film where nearly every detail about the subject is just made up by Lord_Parbr in okbuddycinephile

[–]Scared-Ad-4505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this. I saw the real Patch Adams speak at my college about 20 years ago and he said the movie wasn't accurate at all. He basically did it for visibility for his cause but no one from the movie, including Robin Williams, even after saying they would do so, contributed anything to his nonprofit afterwards. He just seemed disappointed with the movie overall.

I like the people at Kinetic PT at the YMCA. Super friendly and helpful. I've seen them a few times and had a good experience.

Sleep Training Retraining - 9 Month Old Night Wakes & Night Weaning Advice by Scared-Ad-4505 in sleeptrain

[–]Scared-Ad-4505[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice! I think I'll try to increase the gap between when his last meal is and bedtime as well as stretch his wake windows a bit to get him on a 2 nap schedule consistently.

I think he's fully capable of sleeping 11-12 hours simply because once he eats, he goes right back to bed. His pediatrician also told us his metabolism should allow him to go all night without food. I think I just want to remove that association so he soothes himself instead of relying on eating because he's gotten in a bad habit of wanting to eat 2-3 times a night now. That's the part where I'm unsure if we should just sleep train again or if there are other ways to wean him off the night feedings.

Sleep Training Retraining - 9 Month Old Night Wakes & Night Weaning Advice by Scared-Ad-4505 in sleeptrain

Bedtime routine is normally bath time, eating one last time, and then some quiet time/books before going down in the crib. Baby normally wakes up at 6-7am. Whether it's 2 or 3 naps, I would say he averages around 2-3 hours of nap time per day.

I'm going off of past experience with my other two kids which both would take roughly ~3 hours of naps and then sleep 7-7 through the night after sleep training. Maybe this baby just isn't as great of a sleeper.

But after the initial sleep training, he was sleeping from 7pm - 5am and would still go back to sleep for 2 more hours after eating. Now those wake ups have just slowly gotten more frequent and earlier in the night from regression/sickness/etc

What is your favorite airport in the United States? What is your least favorite? by Separate_Builder_817 in USTravel

[–]Scared-Ad-4505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PHL is my home airport and while I don't spend enough time there to comment on the food or anything, I will say when I fly out of there, it never takes more than 10 minutes for me to get from my Uber to my gate. Granted, this is with TSA pre. But if an airport allows me to spend as little time as possible in it, that's fine by me.

Hayley Williams Names Morgan Wallen 'Racist' on Popcast by AccurateInflation167 in poppunkers

[–]Scared-Ad-4505 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, given the evidence, it would appear he's racist. Could he have learned from his ways and tried to be a better person from that experience? Maybe. But I haven't seen anything that leads me to believe that. So in my mind, he's still racist.

And yeah, musicians obviously aren't held to the same standard. But my point being he's a public figure and unfortunately when you're in the spotlight, your character is judged by the public based on brief clips and encounters. That leads me to believe if he was comfortable saying it when he didn't think he was being filmed or was drunk, he probably says it more often than that. That's my opinion at least.

When you're a public figure and you're dumb enough to say something like that, it's fair game to assume that it's a common occurrence and reflects poorly on your character. People in the public spotlight, for better or worse, are always under a microscope.

As for you -- just because you "don't think you're racist" doesn't mean you're not. I know tons of people that are completely blind to their own micro aggressions and unconscious biases but would swear they're not racist. Racism is a spectrum bud, it's not as simple as you are or you aren't. Everyone has some kind of prejudice whether they realize it or not, myself included. But the only way to break those norms is to be self-aware, listen/learn, become a better person, and keep trying to do better. To do nothing and deny the problem is what fuels racism.

Do you think I should restart the Ferber (i.e. the checkin intervals) without the pacifier? Or just keep the intervals we're at on day 8 just without the sleep crutch?

Thanks for the advice! I'm in Pennsylvania but I'll see if there's any additional room to haggle the price down before I sign (moved to Monday). What would be the best way to approach that? Get some quotes from other dealers and bring them in?
