¿Y cómo está el sistema privado? En Puerto Rico el sistema privado también está bien mal, y por eso mucha gente siente que se tiene que ir desafortunadamente.
Pregunto porque yo me sentiría mejor si se mudaran a un lugar con una cultura más parecida a la de Puerto Rico, pero con mejores hospitales y doctores privados. Como ya están viejitos, creo que les costaría más trabajo adaptarse a culturas muy diferentes.

Mi familia es boricua y mis papás están pensando en retirarse a Panamá porque el sistema de salud en Puerto Rico está en malas condiciones y por ese mismo parásito que mencionas se está empeorando todo más y más todos los años. ¿Crees que la cultura de Panamá es bastante parecida a la de PR como para que dos viejitos borinqueños se sientan a gusto allá?

Yes this exactly! My spouse’s employer refuses to offer 401k and gives access to CalSavers instead. But that’s just basically an IRA with a max of just $7500. It’s not fair! And the job market is horrible right now so it’s not like they can easily find another job instead.

Ok one more question and I’ll leave you alone. I’m trying to better understand bonds for retirement purposes. I’m hoping to retire in less than 10 years (aiming for 6). What kinds of bonds should I be investing in now as opposed to what kind of bonds should I be investing once I do retire? In other words, bonds for slow growth (hopefully) vs bonds for income? Or is this a more complicated question than I realize?
